I have dozens of logs from my Gen 2. The car had a custom cold air intake and I found the same thing, the ambient and intake air were very close at the end of the 1/4. There is definitely something affecting power on a limited basis. When i autox'ed last month, the car seemed to get stronger as...

    Launching without "Launch" Control

That is tough to answer, in general, drag racers do not use light flywheels. The oem twin disk clutch and the light flywheel have so many advantages in road racing.

When I saw my trap speeds I thought of your post also. The next time I race I am going to log timing, throttle position and pedal position. The car's 126 mph trap speed last week when the DA was 3000 indicates almost 580 hp (with STD corection factor). That does not sound correct, but, I am...

    Launching without "Launch" Control

There were a couple of comments on how to best lanuch the car when you DO NOT use the Launch Control feature. Hopefully this will be a living document and we will all learn as we get seat time. There is nothing about this post that should be considered as absolute, for sure, it is subject to...

    Need Input on LAUNCH Control

Another meaningless and demeaning post, you need help. Previous quotes by Peer C@ck The S2000 is a legend Dyno the viper in 3rd gear. Drag racing is boring I won't race you - vipers are just for looking good. Do it my way and you will get a sub 2.0 sixty?? My floor mat thread was important? All...

That worked well on the the Gen 2. A simple wet 200 shot (or less) would be easy to do, however, the MAF sensors might not like it. Going into the manifold to get by the MAF sensors also has some draw backs. At a minimum you would need a permanent wide band logger for safety.

I wonder if stryker is taken in all 50 states yet. I know it is in Ohio.

Peer Block Said Summary of claims Jack B regarding tranmissions: "All transmissions have a direct drive 1:1 gear." "My reply listed several popular automotive transmissions that do not. He then attempted to backpedal by claiming that transaxles don't count as transmissions despite the fact...

That 557 is the same as the recent dyno on Giles car. All the customer cars have been in the 530 range. I did not like my dyno numbers, however, the input errors bring it up to the 530 level. What I find very interesting is that the car does not seem to follow the norm. With any other car I...

    Need Input on LAUNCH Control

It is a 1/4 mile track. I have not been there this year, but, Quaker is an unusual track in that the staging lanes are uphill, fine for an auto, but, not good for a stick car. The only reason I offered that track was that it is probably as close for Peer as it is for me. Maybe he is not a bad...

Trackaire: You said: "Do you feel that a launch control version that has an adjustable amount of "slip" would be the best case scenario? I've been in an 800 rwhp Ford GT and it had Race Logic traction control that was adjustable with a simple know to allow the driver to adjust the...

I still want to race you at Quaker City, just say yes or I will assume you know nothing about drag racing. I doubt you could even navigate the lanes at Quaker City, they are unique.BTW, VIPERS are not about floor mats.

It is interesting that all the magazines totally ignore the 60' time. When you see a 1/4 mile ET it is meaningless to assume anything about power unless you also know the 60' time.

I just don't understand why you try to ruin so many good threads, especially when it is obvious you lack the experience to move the thread in the right direction. What thread have you started in this forum that has had a positive impact? I forgot, you did start the thread on floor mats. There...

    Good fire extinguisher?

The liquid type like HalGuard are the best choice for automotive use, no clean up either. I believe SCCA now requires an extinguisher for autox events.

I have a great idea, you should meet us at a close by drag strip, I will go half way and meet you at Quaker City, this way I can get personal lessons from you. BTW, we want sub 1.7 sixties, not, sub two second sixties. You spent way too much time in those legend S2000's.

Put the G5 on the same dyno and it will show more HP than the G4. Very few G4's have been in the 10's or trapped 130. That does not make them a bad car, I am just stating fact. You will see the G5's trapping over 130 in the fall.

This is still a a project in the works. The density altitude was close to 3000 on both Friday and Saturday. On Saturday it rained from 9:00 till 2:00, washing out most of the time trials. I tried the launch control and decided to not use it again. On Saturday I only had one time trial and...

Mark: Two comments and then please discuss this with SRT: 1. With the current launch control , it does not allow enough wheel spin at the time the rpm's catch up with wheel speed, therefore, the bog - this has to be fixed. Currently, in my opinion the only way to launch these cars is with...
