That number will come down into the 2's - that is a guarantee. The key to this car is to have controlled wheel spin, if you dead hook or close, the car will bog and nose dive. If you have a 1.7 second or less sixty foot time, the 60 mph time will be in the 2's and that should be achievable with...
2000 miles and in 4th gear. It was sort of funny they were interviewing each car owner and then video taping the interview. They asked what the mileage was and I told them 20.
I had a chance to dyno the G5 this weekend at National Trails raceway. I did two pulls and both were basically 510. Dynojet type dyno's are very repeatable, even across multiple locations and different operators. However, there are very few things that can cause an error. The typical error is...
Window and door codes. I created those searching the pdc for switched power.
[NQwUOTE=ViperSmith;3202794]Out of curiosity, what were the chassis codes?
In a previous thread I explained that I had removed the air cleaner filter and the car set a CEL. It also seemed as though the pcm was limiting the power. I attached my scan tool and it showed the code set by the air filter removable. In addition, there was a second code that indicated the...
Ed Martin Superstore did call back, the next day, it was on my answering machine. It is still a little strange that it took a full day for a return call.
I went to the Brunwick Auto Mart today and it was a good experience, the tech was knowledgeble and was a huge viper fan.
It does not matter if it is a SRT or GTS, at the dragstrip you only have two options (that work), either turn off ESC totally or use the "Launch" mode. The three ESC modes in the GTS more relate to a road course or autocross and the car's lateral slip on a corner.
The launch mode is not for...
9Ball did not mean it as a slam. The emphasize in the G5 is the track, the earlier cars never had good gears for a high speed track. Personally I like the the new gearing, except for drag racing. Its all about picking your poison, if you were to race a G4 vs G5 and started at 30 mph and raced to...
1. Make sure the inside of the battery cable connector is clean. Take some sand paper and clean the cable end of the terminal.
2. Check that the power terminal on the starter is tight and not corroded.
3. Make sure the cable connector at the PDC is tight and clean.
4. Another problem that is...
They are not trained on the G5. Just a guess, but, they probably don't have the witech scan tool. That tool connects online and is licensed to a specific model.
This is the correct fix, remove both battery/car leads and try to charge it. Once it has an apparent charge use a battery discharge tester, that will give you an accurate battery condition. The battery discharge tester can be purchased at Harbor Freight.
As noted in an earlier thread I had to contact a dealer to see if I had a active OBD code. I removed two visible codes with my personal scan tool, however, there was a debate on whether the SRT WItech scan tool was required to totally remove those codes. I want to emphasize that it was my...

The air filter was the problem. I have a turbo solstice that does the thing. The car seemed to run fine after I removed the codes. My dealer visit is a check because of a a comment from a good source about the witech.
Here is the report.
1. No rain or vht..
2. I pulled the air cleaner and it set a cel. The onboard diagnostics showed one hard code, a P0068.
3. Put the air filter back and made three passes
4. The cel went off after the second run, but, the P0068 code would display when started.
5. I...
The car is "bone" stock. Do you think all the ZO6/Zr1's that post 10's on the corvette forums run street tires? I am not sure it will run 10's the first time out, the one wart these cars have is the inability to do consistent launches. I would guess there will be a firmware change somewhere in...
