Who has a GTS w/ side pipes?

One winter project I am contemplating is a new exhaust. I am thinking about a sidepipe conversion, but I have a few questions: 1. What did you use to fill in that muffler hole in the rear? 2. Did that mid-rpm resonance go away? 3. Which side panels did you use? 4. Would you do it again? 5. What...

Would you let Maaco paint your Viper?

A friend of mine took his RAM in for warranty work, since his hood was peeling horribly. The local dealer (Lynnwood Dodge) told him that DCX's preferred vendor nationwide is Maaco for all paint work. When asked specifically "Even Vipers?", the answer came back "yes, even Vipers". The dealer...

What are car shows coming too?

I turned down 1st place at an all-Mopar show earlier this year. They wanted to give it to me because I had the only black car they had ever seen without all the tiny spiderwebs... Gee, for fifty bucks worth of Zaino I could have entered a beater and won... The part I wanted to avoid was not the...

    PETIT LEMANS

I watched part of Road Atlanta this morning, and it was interesting to hear the annnouncers. Their general attitude towards Vipers was "oh yeah, we know they will dominate, so let's talk to everybody else". **** cameras only follow LMPs and those yellow things around the track. So I took the...

What triggered you to buy your first Viper? What was it?

Excitement over making my second million in the market sent me after a Miura. But I decided they were to too maintenance intensive, so then a Diablo. But when it came down to it, I couldn't spend that kinda coin on a car. So I looked (again) at the Viper. This time I found the Viper Board, and...

Punks Messing With Me Tonight, So I Taught Them A Lesson

'had some a-hole in a beater pickup cut me off twice on the freeway this morning. Second time, I had to scrub ~30mph in about 15 feet. After thinking a few unhealthy thoughts, I came to the conclusion that: a} I was able to do that safely, and will go home to my kids tonight. b} He couldn't do...

My homemade ramps works best (pictures)

Steve, I like your ramps. Real close to what I do. I have 2x12s, but I just drive my front wheels up onto the 2x12s laid flat. Then I can get my cheapo floor jack underneath the car, and the whole side comes up. Much easier to get to the brake pads than your method. Dennis, I remember the...

    Can a Viper do this?

Squirrelly car. Who needs a Viper with gerbils when you can have a Supra with that many squirrels in the chassis... The long video shows what looks like a sequential shift tranny. Anyone else notice this?

Repaint? Will this kill the value?

A "true collector" wouldn't buy a wrecked car anyhow. Paint it whatever color you want. Not long ago VQ did an article on a custom Viper painted a candy-apple purple. It looked rather nice. It is your ride- paint it what makes you happy. Then put on an exhaust that makes you smile.

    Short People

My wife is 5'5 and has no problems in our Gen2. Also, I remember that Herve Vilachez (Tatoo... Fantasy Island) owned a Viper for a few years, and did drive it around himself. He was a bit shorter than most of us... JonB probably remembers the details. Remember- one size fits all!

If You Can, Go Give Blood!

John has the right idea. Don't just give this week, but continue to give blood on a regular basis. Blood banks around the country will have low inventories for quite some time due to the calamities in NY/DC. Your help is needed by the Red Cross for some time to come. Tom Friend "working on my 4...

911 Turbo owner new to board & looking into Vipers

A-Train- You would find the Viper to be a completely different experience. People ignore a 996, but they will STARE at a Viper. Kids will yell and come running to the street corner waving at you. The Viper is a parade experience every time you drive. Sprout-chomping extreme democrats (in Volvos)...

    Green Stuff

I have had my Greens on for the last 100+ miles, and I love them! They went on real easy- did it myself in about 4 hours (all 4)- would have been faster but I had lots of help from my 2YO son... Mirrors that always need to be adjusted...

I started this converation back in February (I think), because it seemed that every time I took the Beast out for a drive, one of more of the mirrors were tilted outwards. Never down, never in, always out. Finally solved the mystery when I saw my two-year old son tweaking the mirrors' outer...
