    I don't believe a DOHC engine will fit in the frame rails of the Viper. Too wide. SRT was going to experiment with a DOHCengine from parent company, but stopped cause it would not fit. I think the current engine is fine. Just ad some boost. Look what GM has done with ZR1.

    I asked that question. I want boost! With my Ford GT, with just a pulley and tune I was at 643rwhp. With a Whipple I am at 766.6. If SRT bolted on a supercharger it would be a pulley change away from 100 more rwhp. My stock Gt put down 551.

    Yea, I agree I have a 911 turbo with PDK with the EVO 650hp package and it flies from a dig all the way to 150....I was hoping for a stock supercharged V10 or twin turbos fr the new Viper. All these new cars are fast GTR, 911 turbo,458,Mclaren,ZR1,GT500,Z06,Lambos,ect. Hopefully SRT will refine...

    The crazy thing is a GTR will smoke both. But the Viper looks way better than both and it's American. I will add a new Viper one day. Will wait and see what SRT does with the ACR and Vert. Would love to see Viper on top.

    Look at the 0 to 150. A full second faster. That's 10 car lengths. Thats huge. I think it's the supercharger helping. Force fed.

    My personal impressions of the Gen V

    I agree with most here. I love b/w, but that plastic rear is very bad, and where is the carbon accents? The interior is very bland, just a sea of black. I own, two Lambos and Ferrari ect, and have owned 5 Vipers all gens except this new one of course. So I am their target buyer, hopefully SRT...

    I wonder if you can order the carbon fiber rear, and carbon front scoops. I sure hope you don't have too have that plastic rear insert:(. Also the interior looks very bland. Was hoping for high end leather with blue accents ect. Love the b/W though!

    WOW! That is a beauty! Love the blue with white. Makes me think of my old 96 GTS, loved that Viper. I wonder if you can order the track pack and upgraded interior with this model. Anyone know when or if the ACR model will be added?

    I hate the press

    I have a Ford GT and I have to say that engine easily puts down 766rwhp on 91 pump gas. With just a pulley change the new 5.8l GT500 will put down 650 at wheels if not more. But, GT500s have a hard time putting it down. Love the new Viper! Will have to get one. Maybe wait for the vert though.

    Dual clutch is just faster plain and simple. Why not have an option? Stick, for those that want it, and dual clutch for those that want it. Every one wins.

    Can someone post up pics of the two hoods? Would be interested to see the difference between the two. I thought there was only one hood. This new Viper really looks like a huge upgrade from the first 4 gens. Very impressed so far!

    I have a PDK 997 turbo and it flat flies! Love the launch control and all wheel drive. Have owned every Gen Viper, rt/10, GTS,SRT10 vert and coupe, also 10 ACR. Loved them all! But the new tech cars will kill them in a drag race. We need a DC option! Love the new Viper! Beautiful!

    If an owner doesn't want the the TC on just turn it off when you drive. It's that simple. That's what I do with my Murci So, with the new Viper just turn all the nannies off. Problem solved for the people who don't like it. And for those who don't like the new Viper keep the one you have.
