    Maybe the regulations will just say that the car "has" to have it. Does not say that it has to be "active" always, therefore the shutoff can be semi-permanent. Just a thought about getting around the problem.

    Obviously check fluids and tire pressure. Don't push it at all. Drive like an 80 yr old. Super cold and nasty up there. You can be a pro and still not control this car on ice. Take it easy and pull into motels if the weather gets bad. Better safe than sorry. Get AAA as well in case...
