I dropped the car off this morning. I have a feeling the problem is related to the O2 sensors being bad and that throwing off the mapping. I'll know more later...
I have not changed the clutch fluid. If you could suggest a specific clutch fluid brand, i will get some today and see what happens. Thanks for suggestion!
That's funny you mention that. Last week i was washing my '04 and a guy, in his 30s, came up to me and said, "Is that a viper? I haven't seen one of those in years. They still make those things"? It didn't really surprise me because I can't ever remember seeing a commercial for a viper, I've...
My problem starts when i try moving from a standstill and into first gear. The car really bogs and feels like it's not engaging into gear. It requires higher revs to get going. There is a decent rattling noise coming from the rear end, and the clutch pedal feels a bit spongy. The gear...
Mike, Feel free to fly to Milwaukee and I'll give you ride in my '04. About 11 years ago I had a Pontiac Trans Am with the LS1 motor. The Viper is a totally different car. It's truly a special vehicle that demands respect. It's a beast. It's the most bad-A$$ car I've ever owned or driven...
Purchased my first viper last summer. It's an '04 SRT-10. After owning it for a year I've done the complete Belanger header/exhaust set up, and had the windows tinted. The sound is incredible. I also did at a track day at Blackhawk this summer. Track time is addictive, and I can't wait to...
I bought an '04 drop top last summer w/ no intentions of mods or tracking the car. I just wanted a bad A$$ convertible for summertime in wisconsin. I've added headers, hi-flow cats, and exhaust b/c i thought the factory sound was whimpy. Now it sounds like an animal. I also did my first...
I've been using the Maguiar microfiber towels, but they are so small. I'd like to find something larger. Also, they get quite dirty from the brake dust on the wheels and much of it isn't coming off in the wash.
First of all, thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on this thread. I had an absolute BLAST at my first trackday. I ended up running the OEM pads with Motul 600 fluid. I ran (6) 20 min sessions, and the car was great. I was able to get down to a consistent 1:28:00 laptime at Blackhawk...
wow, this really came together well. I'd like to do my suspension next summer, and this seems like a great option. Thanks for all the info, and don't be surprised if I'm contacting you next season. I'm anxious to see how they perform for you this summer.
Thanks for the feedback...I'll run the OEM pads this weekend and let you know how it went. Now I need to figure out arm-restraints. I believe they are required for open-top cars.
