Paul,
IMO, SRT will be supplier and production capacity limited, should the market demand over 3000 cars a year. That opinion is based on Ralph G comments on the break even point for the Viper apparently ~1500 per year and the present max production capability of ~2500 cars per year. That's...
According to Mr. G, the SRT hood is slightly better at heat extraction/down force. Just slightly.
Seeing the GTS in person, the GTS vents are very shallow, much more shallow than I would have expected. The GTS-R vents are MUCH deeper.:2tu:
Mark,
MT keeps talking about the rear shocks still being too stiff, street and track, even after all the development. Have you tried the final production cars?
Not to highjack this thread, but my favorite option would be Magnetic Ride Control with a variety of settings, maybe as many as five.:drive:
Be more useful for the street and still be available for the track.
Absolutely NOT.
"The first reference to a corvette was with the French Navy in the 1670s, which may be where the term originated. The Royal Navy did not use the term until after the Napoleonic Wars to describe a small unrated vessel somewhat larger than a sloop."
"A battlecruiser, or...
Pretty much the same. The car was on a SRT rubber pad, slightly larger than the car with SRT displayed on the front of the pad. The saleman had been to school and really tried hard to hold a decent conversation and share his experiences. I'd classify him as naive but trying to represent SRT...
Very difficult to describe sound other than by listening to it! :lmao: Remember this was inside a dealer showroom.
Only to say, the sound evoked the desired emotional response in me. :2tu:
Background: there are two SRT dealers within 60 miles of my home. Both have unsold Vipers coming in. Four for each. Both have Stryker Red cars coming. One has a LE on the showroom floor. Went for a visit to see the LE.
First Impressions: IMO The car takes on very different appearences from...
When you're busy fighting the allegators it's hard to remember to keep the folks waiting for the swamp to be drained up to date. No excuse, but I do have a lot of empathy. :(
The initial production sequence was announced and is being followed. The dates slipped due to quality and supply...
Managing the tires duriong a race is a critical part of the driver's job as well as the entire team's. It involves set up, tire choice, if there is one, chosing when to push, general race pace, and driving style. This is a critical part of the team Viper's learning curve. The cars are dependable...
The BMW team has a good lawyer. The old cars were allowed aero advantages and to run a different front suspension from the street version. Among other things, the Z4 is allowed to run an engine that is based on an engine not available in the street version. :)
You don't happen to have this list sorted by stiffness rather than model name do you?:)
In addition, I need to do some serious research on this topic as GM made some heavy claims for the C5 Corvette stiffness when it was announced. However, I don't remember the metric that was used. I've got...
Look at the info on the DriveSRT relating to the TA aero.

Aero balance question.
I've noriced that the TA uses the six (6) vent hood with belly pan, front aero and taller spoiler. Does putting the aero package i.e. the track pack, on the GTS still maintain the aero balance? Does the track pack use the belly pan?
Thanks
His family, SRT, Chrysler and the Viper nation have had a loss. Grieving is necessary for that which will be no more and that which will not be coming. Celebration of his life is also necessary! :usa:
IMO, Ralph is the world's greatest expert at making lemonade out of lemons. The lemon here being a tight budget. That development car was provided to the Viper Nation to enable some serious drag strip testing at very little cost. Even testing against some real competition makes. Team Viper now...
I had the pleasure of listening to the Michelin engineer talking about the Cups. When the folks in the audiance started to light up about them he immediately tried to get the audiance to understand that while rated for the street, they were not street "friendly" tires, certainly not weather...
Thanks for the explanation.
I'm a Viper fanatic who wants the Viper Nation to be open to an expanding membership, core folks from way back when and new folks from now. I was a fairly active fan until the fights that took place on this forum with the introduction of the Gen III styling. I don't...
