    Interior Noise

Bill, IMO, I am one of the kind of wimp that is going to make or break the Viper as a business case. Wanting to be able to option or use after market items to create a high speed GT that enables my wife and I to make long trips is IMO exactly what the GTS is all about. Nor can my post be in...

    Interior Noise

Several of the press reporting on development cars have mentioned the interior noise from the exhausts as being uncomfortable. I'm wondering if a valved exhaust which would direct exhaust to the side outlets or to a rear outlet would be an interesting after market offering. If the design is...

Track testing for Motor Trend again. Kinda secret. All the new Vipers. Rock on.

The wheel weight is unsprung weight and that has an impact on the handling far beyond the weight reduction. As has been previously mentioned, it seems like mag shocks may well be an interesting option as well as ceramic brakes.

Track testing for Motor Trend again. Kinda secret. All the new Vipers. Rock on.

Seems that initial mods S/B focused on the tires, brakes and suspension tuning in that sequence? :2tu:

    GTS Hood price?

Maybe the GTS-R deeper openings can be made part of the GTS hood update or as an option? It would still keep the same style but be more racer looking.:dunno:

Road & Track April...Could you live with the new Viper ? Absolutly

Comments on article: IMO, all in all, a very fun, upbeat and positive article. I don't know if it was a production car or a development car. My best guess is that it was a development car. If so, then at least one item has been addressed. The seats have been updated. Ralph did a change...

Road & Track April...Could you live with the new Viper ? Absolutly

This reminds me of the dialog between MB and McLaren when they we developing a joint super car. MB wanted more interior room because the intended customer base were a bit substantial in physical configuration. McL said no and didn 't follow MB's request. As I recall, that car also had complaints...

    MoPar Parts

I was thinking that because MoPar has shown some parts at the Gen V intro and at the SEMA show, they (MoPar) are ahead of the game this time. :2tu:

    Chevy ups the Ante.

Matt, I am just repeating what Team Viper said. As an example, the engine folks discovered that the previous supplier of engine blocks was no longer interested in doing business with Chrysler. Team Viper did find another supplier "just down the road", only to discover that the new supplier had...

    Chevy ups the Ante.

Commandomatt, And Team Viper had to spend time and money establishing a new supplier network as many of the previous suppliers were either gone or no longer interested in low volume business. IMHO, when Team Viper started the task of bringing the Viper back, they had no idea that they...

    ACR in Motor Trend

As I recall, the driver in the MT "test" speculated that the Viper had two issues, tires and brakes. Please note that there was no comment about the lack of HP. Brakes are an easy but expensive fix, offer ceramics as an option. The tires are another matter - that's P's problem. Remember that the...

    ACR in Motor Trend

IMHO, applying DI would serve to handle the increased HP issue. That should make 700 hp within easy reach. I know that Team Viper said something about the difficulty of applying DI to a 2 valve OHV engine, but GM has done it to the entire new small block line, so the problem can be handled. :2tu:

35 Gen V's have been built

Not only is the Gen V a refined design with countless changes from the Gen IV and one that is attempting a major upgrade in what we call quality, but there is a major change in the supply chain vendors. Getting a new production system and suppliers to come together at the same time that a new...

    ACR in Motor Trend

Thanks to you and all that reminded me about the Big Wing GT2. I'd blame my memory on old age but the truth is I just plain forgot about that model. having looked it, the GT2, up, I hold it as a case in point, it will attract attention when parked in public even when parked next to a non wing...

    ACR in Motor Trend

IMHO, the attraction of the Gen IV ACR to the crowd is the wing. The wing makes it look like a "real" race car! IMHO, a Gen II ACR, had there been one, that had a wing, would have attracted similar attention. Therefore, IMHO, the Gen V ACR MUST have a wing if it is to attract similar attention...

A look at the development of the GTS-R race car.

I am really into a GTS-R for the road. Make it as wide as the law allows (Ralph said something about the current car being as wide as the law allows), use a Arvin Meritor Dynamic Heigth Control Suspension to handle curbs, ramps, etc, brake and tire upgrade and naturally some more HP. The only...

SRT team speaks on GTS-R development testing at Sebring

BINGO. Very nice job. From the Viper Book, there's a very interesting one page article on how the "styling" of the GTS-R came about. It is very easy to see how the GTS-R can lead directly to the street version of the GTS-R with little effort.

Anyone have any idea what the V10 does to the weight distribution and handling in the 300?:dunno:
