Of the 15 best reviewed cars for 2012, Viper comes in third with only the two McLaren MP4-12C's ahead of it. :headbang:
The Viper TEAM has really pulled IT off. The ball is now in the hands off the production folks supported by the supplier chain. :2tu:
The position on the team that has me most concerned is the Dealers. Will they play their position properly?:dunno:
Watching the struggle folks are having with color and/or stripe options, I think SRT should get together with the military stealth experts and develop a "change the appearence" button. Activating this button would enable the driver to change the external color/stripe theme!:rolaugh:
Until...
Re: Convertible option for 2014....???
I think Ralph has said they would like to sell in the mid 2000s but can make a profit in the mid teens. IMO the mid 2000s profit level would enable a better investment picture, therefore I'm hoping to see that. What I'm really hoping to do is to...
Re: Convertible option for 2014....???
I believe that Ralph said somewhere that the two, coupe and convt, were designed/styled together, no afterthought. I think he said, just look at the cut line and you have the convt.
That also means the chassis is plenty stiff for the convt.
As to...
There is NO DOUBT that the Gen I and Gen II served as the spiritual god father and the base design that was evolved into the Gen V. Ralph G fell in love with the Gen I when he first saw it as a new Chrysler employee, according to him. Also, the change in styling from Gen II to Gen III was a very...
Totally WAG;
Both hoods are very close in "at speed" performance with the SRT hood just a tiny bit better. BUT at a standstill, trafic light, very slow traffic, parked, the SRT hood permits the release of more hot air from under the hood. :dunno:
Thank you all.
When someone runs across the SRT guys, please ask how the mods to the cooling flow in the block to resolve the problems of uneven block cooling worked out during the development cycle.
Thanks again
Some open questions:
Did the mods to the cooling flow in the block resolve the problems of uneven block cooling?
Is the foot well space for the driver's feet improved?
Has the heat flow into the cockpit moderated?
Is the cockpit noise level/frequency pleasurable?
Thanks
No BUT you can get the "regular" hardback version WITHOUT the 32 pages of additional content including final testing, a David Kimble cutaway drawing, details of the painting process, first production, media launch, the book and presentation box wrapped in identical or similar leather used in the...
NO WAY.
First, please note that Ferrari still produces a V-12 in addition to a V-8. Note also that Lambo, AM, Audi, and others all produce engines with more than 8 cylinders. Ralph talks about a SRT car IN ADDITION to the Viper V-10, not as a replacement to it. That car may well have a V-8...
Facinating. I want the Track Pack with street tires! Want the weight reduction without the high wear rate tires. I'm thinking that Mopar will be offering a lot of the goodies as individual items. At present, have more plans than funds, but all is not yet lost.
Anyone know what the aero compairson is between the two hoods? I get the impression that the six vent hood generates more down force, not much but a bit more. :dunno:
According to my inbetween the lines reading of Ralph's statements, the styling for the convertable was considered as part of the initial design process. In fact, Ralph says to look at the body line for the coupe top. IMHO, so was the ARC. Look at all the effort made to make the R look like the...
The SRT team is a very small group and things have to be put in priority order. IMHO, all focus is on the product at this point in time.
Second, some things just aren't complete yet.
Third the majority of marketing money is going into the racing team, not into computer graphics.
So, we'll see...
"Mopar has added a carbon fiber aerodynamics package to improve downforce but they didn’t offer any details as to what this package includes. Based on a comparison between the drawings displayed today and pictures of the production Viper, this aero package looks like it includes a molded rear...
IMHO and listening very closely to Ralph's between the lines comments, the only thing that will prevent an ACR from being put into production is the total financial collapse of SRT. As for looks and function - SRT went to an awful lot of effort to engineer/style the R to closely resemble the...
Mark, I accept you at your word.
I like my story better because it gave me a reason to accept a grill I don't like! So, now that the reason doesn't exist, I can say without any hesitation, I don't like that grill. I would prefer plain mesh with a Viper medallian in the middle.
I've posted this in another thread, but it is worth repeating.
IMHO, the decision to make the Viper a SRT product instead of a Dodge product came late in the styling development cycle. The easiest and least expensive way to change a grill already styled for a Dodge Viper into a grill styled...
The grill design makes me think that the decision to make the Viper a part of the SRT product line and not a Dodge came late in the game. Apparently the easiest and least expensive thing to do was simply "black out" the Dodge styling elements. There is no other reason for having the Dodge...
More options to come? The Carbon Fiber Interior Styling Group and the Carbon Fiber Exterior Styling Group were part of the initial announcement. Just tentative, of course.
"Carbon Fiber Interior Styling Group: Ungraded interior trim pieces and air ducts to carbon fiber.
Carbon Fiber...
