    200mph viper?

Even if your car can get there, and with different gears you could either do it or get pretty darn close, I heard a Viper with no spoilers/ground effects at 200 MPH is mildly terrifying to be in. I've had mine a bit over 150 and the steering felt uncomfortably light, but that was with the top off.

Finally got my new wheels - pics inside!

Looks great as it is, but yeah, a little lowering would complete the effect. Loving your futuristic garage/clean room/bomb shelter, too :2tu:

    You're killing the planet...

Having a degree in biochemistry, I'm familiar with the scientific method and no, observation does not necessarily prove correlation. However, I've gone further than most do to develop my own opinion with the data available, and while researching it, I excluded no one. I've read zealots on both...

    Auto Loans for Older Vehicles

Does anyone know of a company which offers auto loans for cars over 10 years old? Most banks don't want to offer an auto loan for a car older than 7 years. A friend of mine is looking to buy an older Viper but wants to finance it, and is having trouble finding a lender willing to finance older...

    You're killing the planet...

I'm a cynic by nature, however, I've been to the Maldives and have seen the sinking islands. I've stood on an island that looked like it had a river running through the center of it, but it was saltwater, and it wasn't there a few years ago, and the islands have been there for between 4,500 -...

    What a Fool

I've watched the video 3 times and I don't see a low-flying pelican or anything else crossing his path. It looks like he just drove off the road. The commentary from the dudes taping it is hilarious: Passenger: "That will be mine one day." Driver: "What is it?" Passenger: "Pretty sure...

    You're killing the planet...

It's pretty much unanimously agreed that global warming is occurring. The great debate is over whether or not industry and automobiles are the cause, or if it's just a natural warming cycle that has occurred several times in Earth's history. I'm inclined to believe that human activity is...

How much room for a bigger guy?

As nice as the Vette? Corvette interior is a horrid plastic-laden array of congestion. Calling it tacky would be a compliment. Viper interiors are dead simple, but they look better, and I don't think even the most vehement detractor would consider them tacky. Neither car has what one would...

Let my buddy drive my '99 ACR

"How much weight are you saving by using plastic vs vinyl, suede or leather?" I happen to agree with his friend on this point. Too much plastic on the inside for a car in this price range. "How much weight are you saving removing cruise control?" That's where he lost me. Was rather...

I heard a guy got caught out in the rain in his Viper and the whole thing exploded. Blew his legs off and everything.

Homestead Drag Strip - does anyone go?

I called Homestead Speedway and talked to a girl about the Friday night drags. She said it's still going on and the crowds have been getting larger each Friday, with about 1,000 people (drivers + spectators) showing up last week. I thought she might be overly optimistic about the number, but...

    What would look good?

SSG on Gen I/II looks just o.k. If you add black racing stripes, especially with the wheels you have, it would look awesome, I think. I've seen SSG/SSGish paint jobs on Gen I/II's and when solid it's mediocre. With racing stripes, it really sets the color off.

Air Filter for Gen II - questions

I've seen conical air filters connected directly to the intakes of Viper engines before (i.e. no tubes or air box). The filters look like this... ...but don't have a shroud. They are just connected directly to the intake on the engine. So my question is, can this be done to a Gen II...

Couple pics of my green 94 GTX TT

Forgive my ignorance, but how did you get a '94 Coupe? Is the GTX a limited model viper, like the GTS-R, or was it a complete custom job, taking a regular '94 and 'roofing' it?

Homestead Drag Strip - does anyone go?

The info I've found scattered all over the 'Net is that it happens every Friday night from 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM. They apparently had about 600 people show for the opening night, and are supposedly drawing decent crowds every Friday. $20 to race and $10 to spectate. Why the event isn't...

Homestead Drag Strip - does anyone go?

Just read that Homestead opens part of its track every Friday for a 1/8 mile drag strip, with plans to open a 1/4 mile strip. $20 and you can run all you'd like. I live very close to the track and plan to go when I get back home in a few weeks. Does anyone here go down there regularly?

I want to join the VCA, but...

I'm still confused about the membership fees. Is it $110 for a year, no matter when you join, or is it $110 for the remainder of the current year? Say I sign up today, is the membership good from September 3, 2009 - September 3, 2010 or is it only good from now until December 31, 2009? I've...

Know of a Owner that didn't like the Viper?

The first time I drove my Viper was from Tampa (where I bought it) to Miami, most of the time in a rainstorm, and still on the original Pilot Sports which were 5 years old at the time. Scared the poo out of me. It really is a difficult car to drive. But, I got accustomed to its behavior and...

Svalbard, Norway, Greenland and now the Canadian Arctic, though technically we're just below 66' so not really in the Arctic anymore. It's beautiful for short periods of time, say a month or less. Gets depressing after a while. I've done both northern and southern Alaska. Hands down the most...
