Well, well, I learnt a new word today. So she thinks it may be ostentatious?
Well, yeah?
Ain't that the point?
Well maybe, but without really trying.
I have had viperidous since 1995. All red except a silver SRT-10 truck.
None have gotten attention like the SSG I now own. But then I was a...
CRAP! That makes sense. I thought the noise was the pads on the rotor. It's the metal contact on the caliper and back of the pad. Thank you soo much. Now I feel like an idiot - AGAIN!
Don't feel bad about it.
I would have bet there was not a key entry for the trunk.
Sho nuf. It is there. LOL
You do know about the hidden key entry for the driver side door, right?
I lost my keys, but had a key without a remote stashed under the hood.
A teenager in a WalMart parking lot showed...
I notice the people getting better milage are cruising at 80-85.
Going 70-75 in 6th means less rpm's, but IMO going anywhere near 65-70 in 6th gear is a no-no.
Going that slow in 6th, I'm guessing the engine is laboring at that speed and causing the low mpg.
Why not try driving at least 80 on...
I guess Minnesota weather is more predictable than Texas. Especially living on an island like Galveston.
Rain clouds can form just offshore and move over the Island and dump rain quickly, with very little warning.
Anywho, this is insurance in case it happens to me.

After installing the K&N air intake, I have not driven the rain.
But it's just a matter of time until I get caught in a downpour.
It's bad enough that the hood vents will allow rain in, but the thought of the rain being scooped up and dropped on the two filters
is just not acceptable. The...
LOL- Are you kidding. Privacy? In a Viper? Really? Seriously?
Sorry, that just ain't gonna happen. Anywhere. Anytime. Enjoy it, or get yourself a Corvette - LOL

I have asked several techs and even a few old timer mechanics about that grease. No one seems to know why that stuff works.
I know it works, but it drives my crazy not knowing why?

One more note about my break dust test.
Even when switching to Hawk pads, and plugging the air flow from the grille, there is still a small amount of dust.
To eliminate some of this dust, there is a product called Rejex. It's a soil barrier. After coating the wheels following the instructions...
Yes, the Hawks do the trick. Be sure to apply the "anti-screech" grease to the back of the pads. Not sure why that grease works, but since it is recommended I put it on.
The plug is a 3" test plug form The Home Depot @ $4.21.
I purchased and installed new ceramic pads on my 2009 Viper.
I installed Red Stuff pads on the front, and Hawk on the rear.
All wheels had less dust than the stock pads.
A whole lot less.
But the rear wheels had even less dust that the front.
I understand that the main braking is on the...
I think Jason at Phastek did have to order them. Plasma lights are fairly new. They specialize in Camaro's but Jason is a personal friend and agreed to do the nitrous and lights for me.

I have had many positive comments on my painted bezels with a double din radio. Snake Skin Green - Same color as car.
But the most comments come from the green Plazma Halo's on the lights.
That's outside, but people really do like them.
Also, some other rather inexpensive mods are painted valve...
Hey Jay,
I just checked my 2009, and yes it has the tape there as you describe. It appears to be factory, and since it is so close to the window drainage I would put tape back on it. And I would use Gorilla black masking tape.

It seems that it only happens when there is some type of motion?
I vote on the hood alarm switch being on hair trigger setting. Shim the hood where the switch makes.

I have had it with the dust problem. I have read a ton of reviews and forum chatter, but each time I read a comment raving about how one pad is superior, I see another post claiming those same ones are ca-ca?
I can only assume the difference may be the rotors are aftermarket?
I'm now thinking...
