    97 vs 02 differences...

Don't worry about the frame recall, most Vipers already had it done. Since heavy mods are not a priority, the creampuffs (00'+) are just fine and ABS is a plus. You will loose the awesome sounding, lumpy 708 cam though.

99 ACR w/ exhaust dyno results

It seams a little low, at least on the HP side, but it's not terrible. Go here for Dynojet reference numbers: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/603643-MCVO-Dyno-Day-June-23 There are two GTS's with your torque numbers spot on, but slightly more HP. It's apples to oranges, but my GEN1 pulled...

    Let's talk about deleting cats.

GEN1 or 2? GEN1's sound too raspy with a cat delete on most exhausts and I've heard plenty of them, just too short a distance to the side exits. Honestly, I have high flow cats in both and love that they cut down any raspyness that catless tend to have. I have been told by many people...

Which Generation has the most space for the driver?

I have a GEN1 and GEN2, and the GEN2 has slightly more legroom than the GEN1 (an inch maybe) because of the pedal adjustment. Strangely though, the GEN1 has a more comfortable seat with a better headrest and wider side bolsters. In fact, I've driven Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, Porsches...

Good photo comparison on 1994 Rt10 and 2009 SRT Coupe

I've seen this article before. While the pics are fantastic, some of the details are inaccurate in both the article and the pics. The closeups to compare items like the shift knob, AC controls, Cig lighter, even the whole dash are all modded on this RT/10. But still a great article with great...

Any 1998 Viper owner looking for this?

Surrounded by 4" of cushion on one side, and a giant tank of fuel on the other, I'm confident that it has been protected from degaussing.

Any 1998 Viper owner looking for this?

I just found mine still shrink-wrapped behind the driver seat pouch on my 'new' GTS. Most of you have it and don't even know it. I don't want to open mine because it's mint, but I'd be interested in converting this to YouTube. I'm surprised how many Viper owners don't know how to properly...

    AC O-RINGS

On my 94', and also three other cars I've owned, it has always been the valve stem on the low pressure fill side, confirmed with a freon leak detector. In all four scenarios, I have nearly permanently fixed the problem without purging and refilling the freon. The trick is to take the cap that...

    GTS called a Gen 5

Two friends of mine were convinced I just bought the new GTS. When I told them it was a 98' they didn't believe me. They look so similar and the GEN2 is timeless anyways. I do think the GEN2 GTS is the best looking Viper ever made and will remain that way.

    Sagging door

Doing this is not very hard. I did this on my 94' and just did this on my GTS. Simply remove the four bolts holding the body colored panel in front of the door, then open the door half way. Put a hydraulic jack under the door and pump up to the point where the door can't swing anymore. Loosen...

I got a really good offer - Should I sell?

No, and he's not that short, maybe 5' 8", he just has shorter legs. I put that seat as far forward as it would go.

I got a really good offer - Should I sell?

I just bought a 98' GTS. I've had my 94' since 2006 and my intentions were to keep both cars. I've kept good care of it since I bought it with 5k miles and it now has nearly 20K. It's extremely clean for a 94. I have realigned the hood, trunk, and doors, and rear bumper to even out the gaps...

    E85 as an Octane Booster

That E85 runs hotter is a myth. It actually lowers the charge temps like alcohol. It just runs leaner because it has less BTU per volume. Viperless, was your 99 a stock fuel system? Are you saying you ran straight E85? I have a 94' and a 'new' 98 GTS I just got. I have a VEC2 that I could put...

    My wheels arrived today!

I am jealous. I wanted those and begged and pleaded with ninja to sell them to me but you beat me to them. But at least they have a good home. They were going to go on my new 98' red GTS, just like yours. These are the best looking rims ever made for the Viper. No aftermarket imitations...

    E85 as an Octane Booster

Did you end up selling that TT beast of yours?

    E85 as an Octane Booster

Off the shelf octane boosters are garbage and don't boost octane significantly at all. NOS products only increase octane by a few tenths, 1 octane point for them is .01 in the real world. Torco is the only one that works, but it leaves a reddish coating on everything. Only Toluene (114...

    E85 as an Octane Booster

Now, I know that E85 has had a bad rep and until recently I dogged the fuel as an MPG loser and an inefficient garbage fuel that I would never touch. But I have been doing some reading, and the consensus is that E85 eats up rubber seals, corrodes fuel lines, and gives poorer fuel economy...

Gen II 18" Aluminum Wheel restoration help

Don't feel bad. I made the same mistake on the wheels of my dad's vette. You do have a clearcoat, or else they wouldn't stay polished for more than a couple years. You can strip the clear coat off and then re-polish like in that video. They will look better than new, but you'll have to do a...

My new toy slithered into my garage

I just took this excellent 1998 GTS off of Scott Heggie's hands. Mild mods include B&B catback and smooth tubes. I found a dynodays page where it pulled 419RWHP & 458RWTQ. Are two Red Vipers too much? I don't care about disclosing numbers. It has 17,900 miles and is in prestine condition. I...
