Very impressive ring times indeed, but would actually be faster with a DCT. That's why the much heavier, less hp, GT-R Nismo just did a 7:08 Ring time. There is no good explanation of why a 3900lbs car with 255/285 street tires can pull those numbers out of a hat they way they did. If you...
+1 Even more because now second hand owners don't even know what's really under the hood. A Venom 500 might only be smooth tubes and a sticker. A Venom 600 might only have headers. Nearly every H-build is a mystery.
In traffic jams, the DCT is a dream. Quite the opposite of a stick. The Jag is an auto, not a DCT. There are no clutch problems, on the contrary, the stock DCT clutches can handle gobs amount of power and you can actually adjust the pressure places via a TCM programmer and increase the clutch...
People thought Drive-By-Wire would kill throttle response and now most people can't tell the difference on the GEN5. They could make a clutch pedal and a realistic feeling stick. Everything eventually has to go electronic or else get left behind in the dust. If the Viper had a DCT it would pull...
Someone in the local MCVO has an 02' GTS with an auto trans. He didn't buy a GEN5 because he needs an auto, so he bought a C7. Eventuallly everyone will need to go to DCT to stay competitive. The solution is actually very simple, and all it will take is Porsche or Nissan to figure out this very...
94'.... 45k miles.... and 600hp from an article you read somewhere.... Given that this is not even posted in the correct section and the ad is expired in the classifieds, I'm going to be Frank with you, and you can be Taylor. You'll never sell it at that price period. Come down under the $30k...
As much as I love to bash GM, recalls are usually not the fault of the manufacturer but are caused by a parts supplier. Usually the parts that fail are parts that were poorly manufactured outside of the company. Many are Chinese made parts that go through quality changes without the auto...
What the?? Different anal retentiveness. 2 or 3 times a year? Do you drive 75k miles a year? No driving habit in the world would require that frequency.
Quite honestly, I would have jumped all over this Roe @$6500 last month. I have been looking for a Roe kit for 2 years and kept missing the ones up for sale by about a day. But after buying a modded GT-R last week, I have become jaded to everything that I once thought was fast. Not even a 911...
The previous owner flew in a tuner to do all the work. I'm not sure who but I can find out. I just switched to the e85 tune and man does this thing pull even harder now. I did a 2.68 time to 60. Waiting for my R888's to arrive to get more traction because it's spinning all fours too easily now.
GT-R's don't look that great in pics. In person, in has a presence that is undeniably exotic and muscular. I honestly can say at this point it gets as much attention as my Viper where I live. I think it's because no one knows what it is, and those that do highly respect it. The car wasn't...
This is a comment that many of the reviewers and test drivers have said countless times and is why I never considered this car until recently. When I first test drove one last fall, at first I could see what others were saying. But when I got on the entrance ramp and took the corner that I...
I decided to keep my 98' GTS and add something different. 2013 Godzilla with 700HP+ (625AWHP), it launches like a bullet from a standstill. It smoked an Aventador all the way to 120mph. I've never owned anything this fast before, it's like it has a warp-drive built in. You wait for it to start...
A dealer here in MI has an orange TA for $112k. I came close to buying it but the GEN5 is not for me. I drove a 750HP GT-R and now I can't go back. If you are interested in it, PM me for the details.
JonB hooked me up with a killer setup that I didn't even know I needed. It started with just rims and a slave cylinder for my GTS and somehow I let him talk me into a racing pads and rotors, a twin disk clutch setup, and an aluminum flywheel, at a killer price. I couldn't be happier with my...
Does your shift knob move more than 1/4" when punching the throttle? If so, get the poly mounts.
Lift the car onto jacks and re-torque all the bolts holding the diff. Mine were all off spec when I got my 98'. Made a big difference and eliminated one of the many noises my drivetrain makes.
