One racer's quote... "It's not a real car if you've not afraid of it".

I don't know, I will likely be testing that theory first hand. I drove a GT-R and fell for it's handling. It just has a butterface though. (But Her Face - for you geezers) One reason you see a lot of them for sale is because of the high number of lease turn-ins. Nissan leased the crap out of...

    Jalopnik seems to get it

I don't get it. I just don't get it at all. I have driven and felt the crazy response that the GT-R gives, I want one, will likely buy one soon, I understand the car. Those that don't know have never driven one. But for MT to put the Viper, even a test mule, behind the the ST and some of those...

    Closing doors

That Snake Oyl kit looks to be an absolute ripoff. $125 for this??? It makes me want to duplicate it and give them away for $25 just to tell them they can't Viper tax us for no good reason. These things literally look like they were made in 3 minutes with a pair of pliers. I've had to...

    Kumho 315s on 17x13 rim?

The answer is yes, they will mount and work on the stock 17's, both GEN1 and GEN2. I did Toyo R888's in the 3 spoke's and 5 spokes. It looks better on the 3 spokes, flush on the outer rim. On the 5 spokes they will have a gap in the outer bead, but still work. The main purpose for the 315's is...

Old Men Seem to Own Vipers, Why???

I was 26 when I bought my first one 8 years ago. I was the youngest owner at all the club events, by 20 years. Now I'm still probably one of the youngest 3 dudes in my area. I just sold my RT10 to a 28 year old, so now they are getting cheap enough for the Gen X'ers and Gen Y's to own.

Surprised no one ever made 17" 5 spoke replicas in a larger size?

Not really. The forged 5 spokes hold up very well. It was the cast 5 spokes that broke or cracked easily. I have the forged 5 spokes, and I personally don't like them and have turned them into track rims. I would personally love a set ACR BBS rims, but I've got a set of Sidewinder II's on...

Switching from 13" wide to 12" wide rear rims. Spacing issue?

Forgestars should bolt right on. 345's will fit fine. The beauty is you can also put 315's on if a tire you want only comes in that size. Just watch the potholes, the forgestars tend to crack easily because, unlike what the name suggests, they are not forged.

    Upgraded Lifters gave me a 3.87s 0-60!

98' GTS, everything else stock. Ah, yeah was tired. I meant Rockers.

    Upgraded Lifters gave me a 3.87s 0-60!

Upgraded Rockers gave me a 3.87s 0-60! I upgraded my rockers to Harland Sharps from Roe, and updated my tune on my 98' GTS. Went from a best 0-60 of 4.19s to 3.87s in a single try! Only other mod in place before and after is B&B catback. I have never been able to break into the 3's before...

    Gen3 brakes on a Gen1

Yes, there is a conversion kit to make it happen. Talk to the John that's banned from this site.

Let's try to help SRT save/sell the GEN V.

I actually LOL'd on that one. What it would take for me to buy one is actually free: A phenomenal local dealership experience. That's pretty much it. I don't give my money to dealers that treat me like a second class citizen, and so far, that's all I've experienced. A simple test drive could...

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

I just sold my RT/10, keeping the 98' GTS. I'm in the market to spend up to $100k, so a base GEN-V is on my list, though at the bottom. The local dealer experience has been less than desirable. I can't get a test drive for the life of me. I got a test drive drive in a Nissan GT-R and loved it...

    GTS guys spraying juice

Have Sean Roe send you a Nitrous base tune for the SCT to pull a little timing if you are going that high, then tune the A/F using the jets while on the Dyno. I ran a 125 shot for 6 years with no problems ever without any pulled timing, just 2 stage colder plugs. I tuned for a real rich 10.5 -...

Gen V has it's work cut out for it at the Ring...

The C7 typically puts down 117MPH traps, but that's not the scary part. The fact that the C7 has 285 size rears and beat an 08' ZR1 including it's average speed, is what's really scary. 21. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 1:38.28 132MPH '14 461HP 22. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 1:38.70...

    Excessive Oil Consumption?

Neither my GEN1 that I just sold, nor my 98' GTS ever consume any oil. But my wife's 300C eats up a quart every 1000 miles due to bad valve stem seals, though it doesn't show out the pipes. 3 quarts seems high. Change then check every 500 miles.

    New Purchase Questions

Take your time dude. My red 94' is in equal or better shape and I have both tops, AC, head gaskets done, B&B exhaust, 405rwhp at the dyno, perfect original interior with no dash scratches, with 26k miles and I would not be asking more than $28k. Make sure that the head gaskets were replaced...

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

Junkman is the expert, but my solution is simple for me. Upper body MicroFibers become a lower body after four uses, then they become an interior cloth, and finally make their way to the rims and wheel-wells. After that they get tossed in the trash. Costs me $15 for a pack of 12 for a season...

    Unofficial Roe Supercharger Signup

With 15 solid yes's and 12 on the fence, this looks good. I sent Sean an email with a link to this thread.

Not happy today, just got beat, twice !

Dude, take the RPM's at least to 6k. Your fuel cutoff is around 6200, you need those extra RPM's. I know that with Sean's setup on low boost low 120's traps are possible so the 10PSI pulley should get you in the mid to upper 120's, but that MP4 can do low 130's so you may need to get the 2.8...

Removing the $20k stickers? Sell them for half off.
  23. K

Wow no Roe Superchargers for sale anywhere huh?

It will be more efficient with the 2.8 because there is more volume per revolution. Also, because the pulley can be larger, it's less likely to have belt slip at the same PSI (more belt surface area).

    Unofficial Roe Supercharger Signup

How many would buy a new Roe Supercharger if Sean made it again for the GEN1/2? He has said the cost would be around the mid $7k range for a new kit if he makes it. Put your name down and we can submit the list to Sean.
  25. K

Wow no Roe Superchargers for sale anywhere huh?

Sean said he will work on it this winter but I think we need to get a list going to motivate him. And he said he would keep the pricepoint about the same as the last one in the mid $7k range.
