Unless it was hit before, it's more likely that someone sat on the sport bar. Just imagine it was a really hot 18 year old going to prom and it will make you feel a little better.
But stress cracks show up everywhere on this car over time, especially the GEN1's.
Stock for stock, yes.
But with an aftermarket exhaust on any of the previous GENs, I have to disagree. Throw on a ROE B&B on the GEN1 and it sounds exactly like a GEN5. When I first heard the GEN5 fire up and rev, I thought I was hearing my GEN1. And the RPM drone range is very low. But the 96'...
I let two 11 year olds take turns sitting in my GTS over the weekend and I revved it twice and they each told their dad they wanted out because the noise scared them.
B&B catback here/
I hit the Rev limit on occasion, it will not hurt anything as the cutoff is set between 6200 - 6300 rpms. It just feels like you hit a brick wall and slows you down. Nothing earth shattering and it's designed to stay well below the point of floating springs and lifters so don't worry about it.
I have toyed with the idea of selling one of my Vipers but not both. If I wanted to try something else out, I would dump my RT/10 and keep the GTS. I know I would miss it dearly though. But it's ironic that I've had the RT/10 out every single day the past 7 days and will have it out again...
It's just lifter tick. When did you last change your oil and what brand and viscosity? I use 20w-50 Mobil 1 for track days and get loud lifter tick at idle, which is expected. If it sounds like a sewing machine, it's nothing to be worried about. The thicker the oil the louder the tick. If you...
It is confirmed to be 3350lbs. GM said it's 150 lbs heavier than the base because crash standards have changed in the 9 years that the C6 came out and the new standards require less structural deformation.
I thought the same thing. I think the C7 already has more vents than a supercar. (1...
I've been looking at more pics and videos. It really is a nice looking car. But the interior seems to be all over the place. There are buttons and switches in random spots and the fit and finish of the pieces look sub-par. The seats for once really do look nice. But the theme of the interior...
The front end was completely copied from the GENV. I talked with a designer on the Cadillac team that saw the C7 about a year ago and he said that before the Viper was unveiled, the headlights did not look like that. He thinks they were "tweaked" and says those LED lower lids were added...
SRT never said the GEN5 was faster than the ACR. In fact I was told by the lead Engineer, Graham, that they didn't see the need to test it at the Ring until the ACR comes out.
What needs to be done is send a real driver that knows the GEN5 and it's limits and go beat that ZR1 time at Laguna...
It's not an oversight. The Base SRT hood is NOT an available option for the GTS despite what everyone thought. I was told by Graham at Conner that it was decided to keep the two hoods distinctive to their models at least for the first year.
Bottom line is, if you want the cooler hood, you are...
All 2000 model year Vipers are creampuffs. No chance at all it's a carry over.
I want to know what ever came of this so called creampuff 99'. I still don't believe it came that way from the factory.
Re: What pressure should I run at the track with my Nitto 345/25/20 ...going tomorrow
I drove my 94' to the track at 28psi cold with my PS2's. There's little difference on the road, but a couple tenths off the quarter. It looks like the Invo is an Ultra High Performance tire and not a DR so I...
I just did both of these on both my cars. If your Dana rear end is the same as mine, there is no drain plug and you need to pump it out. Just FYI, if you're doing this job and need friction modifier fast, I used the O'Reilly's stuff in a 4oz bottle and it worked just fine in both my Vipers...
I hope I'm not beating a dead horse, but I have a 2013 full color sales booklet and on page 10 it says "All-Aluminum, Mid-Engine 8.4 Liter V-10..."
Is it considered a mid-engine because the engine is between the front and rear axles? Are all Vipers then considered mid-engine, because both of...
