Something stole all my Horsepower.... Help!

On my car it was a clogged cat. The evidence was that the O2 sensor was filled with metallic looking debris. You might be able to look at the sensor without having to tear too much apart. Even though the car would barley run at freeway speeds, there where no idiot lights, or error codes. 8...

bits of metal on the garage floor

So Dodge stepped up and is willing to pay the majority of the bill. Brenda at Dodge was very proactive in getting this taken care of. I don't know that I have ever received better customer service the I received from her. The bad news is that the shop can't find a cause. If it happens again...

bits of metal on the garage floor

As of today, the Mopar warranty will cover the cat that was replaced in November including labor. I'm responsible for the other cat. If they determine that they failed for no good reason there is a slight chance that Dodge will reimburse me because of the low miles. After the new cats are...

how noisy are your windows with them all the way up in your coupe? - 2009 ACR = noisy

Re: how noisy are your windows with them all the way up in your coupe? - 2009 ACR = n I'll assume you are talking about wind noise... Could you be hearing noise from that giant wing on the back? I find my '04 convertible to be surprisingly quiet - all things considered. On my wife's Subaru...

    GenV seats in a genIV

I only got 3 quotes for the interior or and they were all about the same. I'm sure somewhere in LA there is a guy who can do quality work for less money, I just couldn't find him. I'm looking forward to trying out the GEV V seats. Are they comfortable and supportive? My GEN III seats were...

    GenV seats in a genIV

It was about $5000 shape my gen III seats to my body and recover them in really nice leather. It's like a whole different car now. The only mistake I made was that they raised the seat height almost an inch. Tall people won't fit very well anymore. ~Jay

bits of metal on the garage floor

I just got a call from Dodge. They seem to be doing all they can to help me out. I doubt it will be free, but at least it won't be as expensive as I cou8ld have been. If they step up and take care of me I might just have to go ahead and buy the Jeep SRT8 I've been dreaming about. ~Jay

bits of metal on the garage floor

The work done 8 months ago was under the 8/80,000 federal emissions warranty. The 8 years expired in January. It's my opinion that Dodge should stand behind their work and their product. A Dodge part installed by a Dodge dealer should last more than a few thousand miles. Hopefully Dodge will...

bits of metal on the garage floor

According to the dealer, all the cats are bad. Why would a new cat go bad after only about 6000 miles and 8 months? I can't afford to buy new cats every 8 months. ~Jay

bits of metal on the garage floor

Last fall I had a problem with a clogged cat. Thankfully it was covered under the 8/80,000 emissions warranty. Now, I have noticed a lot of metal debris on the floor by the driver side exhaust pipe, and a little on the passenger side. Could this be a sign that the other catalytic...

Hard Top vs Soft Top Convertible Gen V ??? Poll!

The problem with an inexpensive light weight hard top is that it doesn't perform well. I have read that on the Miata it not only weighs more, but it also makes the interior more noisy. A soft top absorbs sound, whereas the hard top amplifies it. In a heavy luxury car a retractable hard top...

    18 speaker stereo?

The six 6"x9" woofers are interesting. It will be interesting to see how well they make bass. The current design with a sub between the seats doesn't quite work. Car audio is a fascinating subject. I'm really impressed with how they can get such cheap components to sound so good on many new...

    18 speaker stereo?

In the Viper magazine they show a preliminary list of options, including an 18 speaker audio system. Where do they plan to put all those speakers? In my thinking, overkill would be 3-way speakers on each side = total of 6; plus a sub behind each seat, now we're u pto 8, then- just for fun...

New video, Autoline After Hours, interviewing Ralph

That was awesome. Thanks for posting that. I thought it was interesting that because of a shortage of Japanese cars, people gave the Chrysler 200 a try. He also said that the Grand Cherokee is attracting Lexus owners. That describes me. I'm trying to decide between an SRT 300 or SRT Jeep. ~Jay

Where in the heck does this ridiculous idea that a Viper cannot handle come from?

Thanks for posting those videos, I had never seen the German one. Too bad he didn't compare it to a Porsche. I find the Viper to be very predictable, and even a joy to drive on a track, though I do have very limited track experience. However, on the street, there is one on-ramp that I can...

Ultimate Factories ( Dodge Viper) Gotta Watch It !!

Thanks for posting that. I saw on TV a little over a year ago, just before buying a viper. It was great to see it again as a Viper owner. It's really cool to own one of the few hand build cars in the world. ~Jay

Launch control- the "Ultimate Poser" option

I think stuff like that can help you know what the car is capable of. Then make it a goal to launch as good, or even better than the computer. I personally like the traction control and tech stuff, but launch control did seem like cheating and I would have preferred that they left it out. But...

Ferrari Boss Left “Speechless” After Seeing The New SRT Viper

    What about the cops?

My thinking is that any cop can afford a Viper, and Vipers are made in America by Americans. Therefore, there is no reason for them to be envious or bitter. I've only had the Viper for a year, but I haven't had any experience with the police yet. When I had my '68 Corvette, I've not only had...

The closest I'll be to see the 2013 until a local one shows up.

Thanks for posting that, and as Balance said, you can't have too many videos! There was also a related video that I had not seen called 2013 SRT Dodge Viper up close and personal. Ralph gives a quick overview of the aerodynamics. ~Jay
