    If it were me, I'd jump on the Gen IV - it's hugely improved over the Gen III, and for the extra $25k you'll have to dish out, you're getting a lot more than $25k worth of car, plus you can have a warranty... The problem is selling the existing car - that's a pain in the butt these days.

    It could be that way - the stripes on those cars weren't perfect by any stretch. If they look 'too clean' then they're probably repainted. Also, if they look 'too sharp' then they might be vinyl - although that should be really easy to determine from a quick glance.

    They're painted, and there is a big ridge. Also, you'll often see a bit of uneven paint thickness at the edge of the stripes - that's how you know they're real.
