dead car, need help part 2

new battery is in and what a difference. the engine turns over once and starts compared to turning 3 or 4 times before. i still need to find the ground off the engine block to check it. i was only able to start it to move it back in the garage last night. in cleaning the tray, i used baking...- ViperJay

dead car, need help part 2
it was tight. battery is out and there is a slimy goop on top that i can assume is acid. dates are not punched on the battery but it says shipped 05. i see no contact points that could cause shorting. im going to run out and get a new battery anyway. but does this answer the power on one...- ViperJay

come on, give me some credit..... i didnt put everything away, lol. i kept going and took the cover off. the terminals are fine and well secured. ground looks solid. what should i be looking for? at the top where the carry strap for the battery is touching the cage post, there is white...- ViperJay

well, with all this different advice i guess ill replace the battery first........ :D. thanks for all the replys. as i no longer live next to "mr. toolguy", im off to the store to buy a jack, break down bar, tire wedge, jack stands, battery, etc etc........- ViperJay

car dead, need help
well, the car ran wonderfully yesterday as i went up to the wine tasting and bbq for the new england gathering. no problems what so ever. this morning, i hopped in to run an errand and the car is dead. its electrical. completely flat. no door chime, no map light, not even the lights on the...- ViperJay
