What the ACR should look like

    This has my vote: http://austinrenders.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/gtsr-street-red-wp.jpg

Wow i saw whats coming, no its not hp sorry but really awesome

Billet Silver is the best looking color Chrysler has out right now aside from Stryker Red of course. There are so many shades to it.

Let's be real, what would it take? Only short answers please

My initial post was short but due to some reoccurring claims I feel the need to clarify. Sorry for ****ting in this thread like so many others have already. My love for the Viper came in 1992 when I saw one on the road. In 1998 my dad purchased the first silver GTS in Texas and immediately...

Let's be real, what would it take? Only short answers please

More radical styling without a doubt may have led to me upping my budget. The only realistic and the most efficient way SRT can obtain this is with a widened rear. The front is fine as is. Just add 1 1/2"-2" on each side of the rear fender and have the vent flank the tail lights the same as the...

Will SRT's Marketing Department Kill the Viper Brand?

That was my idea! ;) And it's a damn good one. Oh and I didn't buy a Gen V because it was too expensive currently. $100k is max budget I was currently comfortable with and a loaded GTS is all I would settle for. That's how I am. Instead I bought my SRT Jeep and couldn't be happier. My salary...

Gen V Drag Strip Results & C7 Corvette

The most ignorant comment I've seen yet. There are quite a few people here without gen Vs who can buy you with their petty cash.

Gen V Drag Strip Results & C7 Corvette

Great info and thanks for the videos. By any chance do you know what the '14 SRT Jeep ran? I've been itching to get mine to the track.

    New Viper teased?

I'll be punished for this but upper management in the real world knows the answer to that. Legislation. Sad but true. Qualifications are a tiny part of what gets you important public positions at large public companies. Hire a questionable woman CEO for a positive imagine = have a team of highly...

My vote for the next ACR

Not going to cut it. SRT needs to think outside of the Viper faithful if they want any chance of kicking ass with the ACR. No widebody and it will be a flop. Radical or bust. And that yellow one looks very Asianesque.

    New Viper teased?

I've agreed to stop banging on about what many people here agree with. All I'll say is if SRT wanted to do everything in their power to make the Viper fail and be discontinued, they are doing it now. It's like they climbed Mt. Everest and stopped 300ft from the Summit for absolutely no reason...

    Jalopnik seems to get it

Pre-financial crash Ferrari's were that. People are trying it again but it's not working this time.

    Jalopnik seems to get it

I guess that would be a min-mini-mac. P1 is the real McLaren

    Dealer reconnaissance today

Local dealer had a $20k markup and I talked to the manager about it and warned him. He lied and said dealers couldn't keep them in stock. Sure enough now it's on ebay for $15k off. Not only did they lose a Viper sale they also lost a Jeep sale because I didn't appreciate their practices.

What can SRT engineers do to improve future Gen Vipers?

^ Very good post and very true. But for the love God stop calling the Viper a supercar. That's like calling a local car show model a "supermodel". It's an American Exotic and a damn good one at that!

Corvette VS. The World (Including The Viper)

Seeing these times confirms that the Viper has a lot more in it. The driver(s) is afraid to push the car to its limits.

    Any 2014s?

Very true. 430, 458, Gallardo, R8. I don't even turn my head when they pass by. I easily see 10+ 997 Turbo and Turbo S daily. I can't count the total amount of 911s I see.

What can SRT engineers do to improve future Gen Vipers?

Everything is pretty much covered here. The only thing I disagree with is the V8 comment. -DCT is a must. -More aggressive body work would help IMO. Just widen the rear a few inches, the front is aggressive as is. -Go away from Pirelli. I'm not a fan of their tires or their prices...

Please, stop bashing the gen v

The moderators need to create a special section for Gen V complaints. Relegate the over the top negative opinions to that forum. I'll gladly stay there for the hope that SRT listens to reason, and not just owners blinded by their love for the car. Many of us complaining are complaining because...

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

I feel like this is a scene out of the fast and the furious...It's the car. It always has been the car. You guys are looking through the lenses of Viper lovers. You aren't taking a step back and looking at the car with an unbiased view. For Viper guys the car is damn near a home run. Sure you...

    Gen V ACR performance speculation...

Yes because the Scuderia, Superleggera, SV, etc. are comfortable? Those all sell VERY well for Ferrari and Lamborghini and they will beat the hell out of you. I have been in an SV and a Scuderia, never a Superleggera because it's made for little people. How about Porsche GT3, GT2, GT3RS...

    Gen V ACR performance speculation...

I hear ya completely. It's the only way the Viper is really going to take customers away from more expensive marks.

    Gen V ACR performance speculation...

700HP and 2" wider in the rear and the Gen V would have been selling like hot cakes, at the current price point. I've come around to the gen V, sides and front are beautiful. But you guys seriously underestimate the power of a few inches (lol). The Viper was SO CLOSE to perfection but a few...

    Gen V ACR performance speculation...

I never spoke with Ralph but the other reps indicated it was not even in the works yet. This wasn't direct, so I'm inclined to believe it. My guess, they're (damn good idea) waiting out the Z06 replacement. I think the ZR1 will be a ways off so that's probably not their concern. One thing is for...

    F12 around Laguna Seca

Ferrari is artwork. That is how you are supposed to look at it. Sure performance is important to an extent, but that's not why most Ferrari owners I know buy them. It is handcrafted excellence.

    Gen V ACR performance speculation...

The ACR does not need to beat any supercar, period. Would it be great if it did? Definitely. However, the Viper does need to beat all sports cars and exotics, handily. That means Aventador, Gallardos, all non LaFerrari Ferraris, Corvettes, all non 918 Porsches, GTRs, etc. I was at the ALMS...
