Who repaints the whole car if there is NO big issue ... dings? Sounds fishy!
Have the car checked out by a person who knows Viper. Nothing more disturbing than finding out later that the car was involved in an accident :rolleyes:

A run-flat is a totally different tire to a non-run-flat. Think about the sidewall for example and the flex ... etc.
NEVER, EVER mix different tires on a Viper.
So, during the last week and my drives with the 2002 FE GTS I checked the temp of the "box" and it is .............................................................. cold. Not even luke warm after a drive. Go figure!
Went to a drivers training in Austria last weekend with the FE GTS. No problem to keep up with the newest F 458 Italia :drive:
There was a second Viper, an SRT-10, but he did not make it trough the very first lap and dived under the guard rails...:crazy2: he claimed to have 730 hp, but who...

I just recognized that you used a VEC (now AEM)...how about burning excess fuel in your exhaust being the cause for the excess temps? And, yes, please use the IR :rolaugh:
I have to admit I never checked temps around the PCM or the BOX next to it ... but there is the EXHAUST running way below the BOX and if you have excess heat the odds are high that your exhaust may cause the heat.
How about measuring the "elbow" or "flex pipe" temperature of the exhaust on your...
There is nothing wrong driving a Viper daily IF weather permits and your wallet - for maintenance (tires, clutch?, brakes, service, door dings, fuel, beer, wax, ...) :D
