    oil consumption?

ANY car running 25llbs of oil pressure at idle and under braking doesn't need any repair or mods. Oil pressure changes with engine RPM until it gets to a high pressure and bypasses. I wouldn't be concerned if it dropped to 10 at idle. The pressure also changes with the type and weight of the...

    Wheel Hop

I think we all like to burn the tires once in awhile. I changed fron stock to all new PS2s 4 months ago. It made a little difference but still it would hop bad enough that I would think it could tear out a rear end mount. Man, The guy that comes up with a traction bar set up for a Viper is going...

    Lifetime Warranty

I think Chrysler is making a good move. It's really got me thinking of selling my 96 GM for a new Chrysler product. Their cars/trucks have really changed in the last decade.

    Your First Car?

My first was a 64 Falcon Sprint in high school. I bought a wrecked 69 Mach1 and put the 351 and 9" rear end in the Falcon. What a sleeper. In high school at lunch we would go drag racing on a deserted road (now a major one) and the Falcon could shut down the New 70 454 Chevelles and ElCaminos...

    Spark Plug Reading Please

I was reading somewhere that with a supercharger the air/fuel of 14/7 is no longer a valid mixture when the air is forced and it is a richer number. Thought I saw it on Holley or Wieand webpage when I was researching a s/c for my pickup. Looks to me that your 2,3,4,8,10 plugs are lean run but...

    Lifetime Warranty

Anybody know if the new Lifetime powertrain Warranty applies to the Vipers. Also heard that for an extra $4900.00 you can get it bumper to bumper. I saw an ad on TV about the warranty but no detail. Anybody hear any details about it?

    Door Trouble

My drivers door was sagged a little and starting to rub the door strip rubber so I took the cover off the hinge in front of the door and adjusted it. Better to adjust it , takes 10 minutes, than wait until it wears out the door strip or detroys the latch. Better to fix a problem when it's minor...

    Expansion Valve on A/C

When you say the system isn't circulating the freon and think it is a plugged expansion valve then the pressures with the compressor running will be the low side in a vacuum and the high side over 300#. If the pressures read the same with the compressor engaged turning the the reed valves in the...

    Expansion Valve on A/C

The HVAC housing has to be seperated to get to the evaporator and there are 2 bolts holding it in under dash and 2 from under hood. You need to tag the hoses under dash. Drain or pinch off coolant lines. The expansion valve is attached to the evaporator core. Discharge A/C system 1st. What are...

Would you buy a Viper with a V8 HEMI?

I read an article some time ago that Shelby wanted to put a big V8 in the Viper but it wouldn't fit between the frame rails planned. The V10 has a narrower angled deck. There is a drag funnycar Viper with a Hemi but it has a tube frame. If you want a V8 buy a Vette.

    RT not starting up............

You're going to have to pull the tire and get to the cables at the battery. Either loose or battery is shot. The click is from low amps available to crank the starter.

Some pics of the Viper form this weekend :) For you Chad!

Man, I think I'm going to repaint my GTS blue with white if that's the kind of people they attract.:2tu:

    RT not starting up............

Sounds like loose battery cable to me. Turns on the low load lights then with high load of the starter looses connection. Does it crank when jumped at the under hood jump/charge posts? If it jumps you need to get to the battery and check connects.

    Quick Connect Firring Help!!!

I had real fun getting mine off also and I do auto repair for a living. The filter seals on an O ring and can slide in and out a little on the line. Also if any dirt gets under the metal retaining clips inside where the tool is trying to depress the retainer won't release. I spray carb cleaner...

    3.55's to be installed

z76232, sounds like a far price to me. Even if you were paying $100. an hour and 5 hrs still looks right. If I couldn't do the job myself I would pay that for the job including parts. No bearings just ring and pinion. Glad to have a New Viper owner but Juli need to show him how to stay on topic...

    Accufab Throttle Bodys

If putting larger throttle bodies on your intake is not increasing performance by allowing more air to mix with more fuel then why do you guys put freer flowing air filters and smooth tubes before the throttle bodies?? Remember that SCCA restricts the air intakes so the Viper is competitive...

    Is '08 the Last Year?

MAN, I heard the rumor too last Monday golfing. A friend of a second cousin was telling me that the NEW Viperette would be out for 09. It'll have smaller rear tires so it can do easier burn-outs.:headbang:

    Techs, I need help please!

Sounds like 2 problems to me. A leak and a bad MAP sensor. But you need to scan for codes on the rich run. A MAP sensor will do both idle low from rich run. I haven't figured out the standard Viper fix of replace the battery yet. If it cranks good it's not a battery problem. There is a relearn...
