WOW, never heard of checking Cats by the smell. New one on me. We use an emmission analyzer or a infrared pyrometer. Check temps at 2000 rpm and after about 3 minutes measure temp before and after Cat. It will be at least 20 degrees hotter behind the Cat if they work. About the same temp if not...
Dang, Buddy look where you live!!! Worse than having to take a dog sled for delivery! Man, they have to find an air boat an alligator hunter for defense and fight all the floods to deliver to you. AND you really THINK "Overnight" delivery. MAN, Get real!!! LOL Try gett'n "overnight" to AK. Sit...
Yeah, I was trying to get the RT out to take it down to the shop and mount up the studded snow tires but I ended up storing it instead. TOO much work!!!:2tu:
If you are less than 6 ft. I'd but the 3 piece. You can order painted. It is nice to have the top with you in case it rains. I had a hard top and soft top and the hard top always was left home and the soft top rolled up in the trunk. I don't know what's availabe for the 93. I almost bought the...
HIJACK'n again!! :headbang: JonB, Great offers you put in for VCA car owners. People don't realize what it takes to maintain a business. Sometimes they expect an awful lot. Guess we are in the auto business just for the fun. Personally, I like to make money and get real tired of the whiners...
Cars have been wrapped forever....and all kinds of cars too. My turbo Mitsu pushed 28 PSI and was wrapped for years. That saved my xfer case, a/c compressor and countless hoses. Zero issues. I know that a NA Viper gets no where near as hot as that Turbo Mitsu at 28 PSI. This thermo tec tape...
Has any body ever tried the Z06- Viper mod??? Remove all the fluff from the Z06 the traction control, cup holders, automatic. Install a V10, 550-600hp. Widen the rear wheel wells. And get it on with a Viper.??:rolaugh:
So now to confuse the issue. How about a 98 GTS with SRT10 wheels?? 18 and 19's. I was planning a gear change this winter. Planning to do some SCCA racing here. Short courses in school lots. SOLO. Usually never out of 2nd gear. The only time I ever shifted into 6th it almost killed the...
I put the Random and Corsa system on my 98 GTS and wrapped the cat and pipes with the exhaust wrap Summit sells. The 6" wide 100' roll. I drove the car for about 10 miles, pulled into my garage and the smoke wouldn't clear from the sills. I'm sure it was smoldering and it was a lot of smoke. I...
I learned by doing it and reading service manuals. The first thing is to make an attempt of the repair or service. You have service manuals, the internet, ect. I listen to guys all the time even my employees (auto techs) with "I don't know how or I've never done it before". Well it's no...
Man, Great pictures. The Vipers still pose the best though. I sure hate the laws that say you have to put those big ugly plates on the front of a nice car.:brick: :D
Sounds like corroded dirty battery terminals at the battery to me and when you start shorting it then the load welds the terminal to the battery and makes a better connection.
Dang, now we know who to ask. HMMM, what's the blue wire for that runs along the frame by the what's it? Going to the thinggy? WOW, what a great find! To bad someone had to die though.
Yeah, try to fire??? Is that like striking a match and it won't light?? I think the best bet is to hook up the tow strap, get going @ about 15mph and pop the clutch. Could also push it down a hill.:headbang: Starter clicks hard or rapid makes a difference. Hard click=starter, rapid =...
Tooo Funnnny!!! I received my magazine about 3 days ago. I leave it in my reading room and I'm only on page 20. I was reading my e mails today and the fellow that bought my RT says it was in the magazine, Page 52. I forgot, last year I must have sent pics to the magazine, I guess?? or somehow...
