Ah, I get it. You just unbolted the manifold and propped it up while changing the Tstat at the front. I assume you relieved the pressure through the Schrader valve first.
BTW, Landman, remove your gas cap when doing this so that you don't build up pressure if your gas tank heats up.
Tony...
I'm not sure how Tony did it without removing the intake manifold. But, I had the same problem with the old gasket. Thermonuclear bonding held that SOB on. I used some gasket remover (about 5 times) and a plastic scraper. Good advice on the manual as well. Much good info there, and you can...
Yeah, got to like someone who gets the "finicky detail stuff". The thing I would be interested in is the pushrods. I had to pull my old rockers, and install one section of the new Jesels with the length checker. Then, I ordered new pushrods and waited until I could do the final install. You...
This one is easy. The answer is how you define "handle well". If you took this person to the track, and told them to drive fast around a tight turn in their front wheel drive Honda Accord, they would do fine and think they drove pretty fast. Then, hand them the keys to your Viper. But, don't get...
Without a formal failure analysis, I'd be reluctant to blame Crower. Do you know if Crower accepted responsibility? How did they fail?
If you don't do the install correctly, any rolling rocker will fail. For example, if you use the old pushrods, and they are not the right length, expect...
I put Jesel on mine. I was impressed with the quality. However, I would have no concerns with Crower. You will most likely need new pushrods as well, and a pushrod length checker.
Sorry, I was not clear. I want to monitor both banks simultaneously. I do have the Vec3. So, It appears that I can separately wire them to the Vec3, using the analog inputs of the Vec3. Then use the Roe SW.
OK, stick with me on this one. I've still not had my morning coffee.
Y2K5SRT, you are the National VCA Treasurer. You are saying that you get ZERO from the dues? So, you collect the dues, and distribute every penny? Who gets the money? Is it the local chapters? Can I start my own local...
As one who was attempting to use the How Tos yesterday at about 3 PM, I expect your ears were burning a bit. :)
As one "Owner" who was considering submitting a How To, I see I will now have to pay for that privilege. :)
Seriously, I have not joined for the past two years because it does...
Trying to figure out how to monitor both banks with the LC-1. Looks like you just buy two of the LC-1s, and run serial out of #1 to serial in of #2. Serial out of #2 goes to the PC. Are you guys using the Innovate software (LogWorks) to monitor the LC-1 or something else?
Well that sucks. I had hoped that you had already spent all your dough to figure out the best solution. Now it looks like I'm going to have to spend some of my own. I'll keep you posted if I find anything. I putting in new Belangers next week.
When I was looking for my Viper, I looked at one that was similar to yours. All the track stuff in the world. For a guy with no Viper experience, no tuning experience, and no track experience, it was pretty intimidating and scary in the sense that I had to trust that this maniac had installed...
Just my 2 cents. It will be hard to convince anyone that this is not a track car. You've got track parts all over it. In fact, everything about it is track. :D Only a VCA guy who wants a track car can appreciate the car as is.
If you are going to sell it, take off most of the track stuff...
I had my GTS done professionally, by a racing graphic artist outfit. They did a great job, and convinced me that doing this is not all that easy. Their quoter originally quoted a special run of vinyl that was dual 8" rows of vinyl with the correct separation between the two. Sounds easy huh...
Yeah, the long stretch of road. :D
So is the general concept to use the WB log file to determine new parameters for the VEC3, and then to use the VEC software to make a new program, store it on a card, and then upload to the VEC?
Thanks,
Pat
I would yank it off. Sounds like a poor design that fails often. Did Masterlube give you a torque to tighten to, or just "don't over-tighten"? Another thought would be the O-ring material. If not specified correctly, the seal may be breaking down via contact with the oil. So, no matter how...
