I meant the: If either is open change that O2 part you proposed for the test procedure.
I go back to the beginning with this problem. In 2001, I tried just about everything. From new O2s, to drilling, to relocating the bung when the band aid 'patch' came out. I have also heard of problems...
Wouldn't that require buying a new one to experiment with?
Almost all, if not all, 00-02 cars will set a heater code light with Belanger headers and the O2 bung in the factory location. It was an issue right from the opening bell with 2000 model year cars. Whatever company Dan Cragin hooked up...
Very nice job Dave. You are a craftsman with this stuff.
The OEM sensor / bung from the factory points straight up into the aluminum cover plate. My Belangers came with a bung in that same place. It was no problem routing the O2 cable to the connector. Have never had a heat issue
The quick...
My experience is the same as Dave's. Over the years, I have found 3-4 pumps with a hand gun every other year (about 20K miles) has worked well. I overgreased in the beginning....and it puked grease out for a while. Vipers see very little weather that washes out the grease.

Mine was done over about 8 days with extreme care -- no hurry at all (zero prior experience with such things), cleaning parts of the engine not exposed before, still had a day job then, and having to go out and buy some extra tools. I also built an extra bracket for FI cable harnassing. Start to...
Ted,
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Roe guy all the way... 2 of them. But my experience is a little different from yours. As a DIY kit, unless your 2nd name is 'mechanic', you will not put this on in 6 hours total time....if for no other reason than being extremely careful. The lower temp t-stat...
I don't quite follow? The factory O2 sits vertically below the aluminum plate. My WB, and many others I know of, is located in that same general area, roughly 90 degress away, and pointed towards the back of the car...just above horizontal.

Our system has 4 bullets...2 where the resonators were and 2 out the back. I opted to get 4 instead of 2 and put them where the resonators were. I have a friend with the same set up, but only 2 mufflers in the back (no resonators or cats) .....not a big difference in sound side by...
I fully understand Toyota....in the black. GM in the red big time. .... but to be fair, all is not a bed of roses for foreign car companies. Toyota's stock has dropped by almost 50% since 2/08

I think that's where the deeper rumble comes from. I bet it would achieve a similar deeper sound in a non-headered car as well. Like Warfangs TNT set...
Warfang,
I'm sure you're car sounds great! ....but IMO, it's not possible for a catback car to have the bark of a headered car with no cats and see thru race bullet mufflers. Some may find it offensive, but we have been heard over 2 miles away at WOT. Neighbors close to 2 blocks away can hear...
75,000 miles on one set...retightened once...got half a turn or so out of 3 or 4 engine header bolts on the left side. That was over 30K miles ago. Zero issues with anything downstream from there other than replacing blown out race bullet mufflers. I'm actually still running on my 2nd set of...
Thanks Tony. That would be this clip, with a few donut stills now included. Basically spinning through most of 1st gear and ending up a 1/4 mile away at 100 MPH or so. Recorded with a tiny little PDA by my brother who chuckles at the end that the sound seems so close. This was quite a while ago...
Couple of good ideas here: tie raps and under the seat rails. Velcro could work too....I'm guessing you wouldn't want the velcro up in the pedal area as it could impact WOT and the clutch pedal switch with the added thickness.

You can use any oil, or lube, that meets the OEM specs in your owners manual. The warranty will not be voided. Nowhere does it say you have to use Mobil 1 to keep the warranty intact. You have to follow the drain guidelines they state, but that's 2-3 times longer than what most run their oil...
There are 4 small 'seam' type areas on the pan which need to be siliconed -- no gasket material there. I don't remember the exact length of the pins. That was a while ago. They are 1/4" roll pins. Be very careful with the crank seal installation so you don't knick it. You'll likely need a 250...
...Must be the steel to be drilled is not that hard. A standard bit in hardened steel would be getting dull before it finished it's job. Seeing as you're kind of bent over like a rat eating cheese...... I went with the better bit which will keep it's edge much longer.
The crank pulley does...
Hi Robert,
With 20" wheels, you likely have an effective ratio of around 3.35 to 3.45 now. To me that's a good place to be. There are numerous gear calc sites to figure it out exactly.
Here's one: Gear Design Equations Formulas Calculator Effective Gear Ratio 3.55s will drop you lower towards...
Mine are pretty much exactly where the OEM sensors were. The original Belangers came with a bung welded in there.....looking straight up at the aluminum cover plate. The OEM sensor wire is long enough to reach the connector with a little re-routing...as are the Quick Fire sensors.
