HUH? I get all the same mags and more and....there seems to have been a LOT of positive Viper coverage in a LOT of mags in the last 12 months.
Including ( but not limited to) Feb 09 R&T, Dec 08 Motor Trend, Nov 08 Car and Driver, Sept 08 R&T, Oct 08 Motor Trend, Feb 08 Car and...
1) yes
2) $45,000 if less than 15,000 miles today
3) in ten years.... $105,000.00 ( if less than 18k miles)
not big appreciation...but something nonetheless
Hey, I think we would all pull over a blonde ( kinda cute) in a viper ( or a vette) for a look...highlite of a day...ifn we had a chance....sorry Les, but guys are guys:)
Good post...veteran tech (that is paid fairly) will nail it the first time... it has nothing to do with the dealership ..but the success of the repair is contigent upon the skill and the incentive of the individual working on the vehicle at that point in time. Do you even know the name of the...
Thanks Mark, mine is a 97 GTS. Which tire swap works the best? I put on new Michelins ( 18" wheels)but doesn't seem to help. ( maybe you are refering to ditching the runflats on the newer models.)
The strange thing is that now with colder weather and cold roads, the problem is the same...
Re: $8000 and 54 hours to install Stryker Heads, Cam and Headers??????
'Better yet run the car and get the trap speeds (seat of pants feel only goes so far ).A worked Nat asperated gen 2 should make over 550 to the tire and trap in the approx 130 mph range on stock tires. You also have to check...
Hey wait...Jeff Morys' numbers are at the flywheel....you have to subtract 15% for RWHP....
680 x 15% = 102
therefore 680 - 102 = 578 RWHP
AS I said in the prior post, 600 RWHP sounds high for NA.....BUT 575 RWHP at 9.8 compression is a big number...
..
Well said. I agree with everything you say. ...trap speed is everything. ( but a dyno is considered a valuable quantitative measurement for testing and development).
As you say, the proof is in the results.. ( unfortunately I am not a drag racer)
Iffn I try the 1320 in my 97 GTS...
I get a lump (in my throat ) every time I visit Jeff Morys site and look at the dyno sheets for Striker heads on Gen II.
Over 700 lb.ft tq:omg: and 680 hp with stock rods and stock fuel/injectors and stock wet sump and stock intake( that was 9.8-to-1 compression on 91 octane pump.
Jeff...
OK, so it's $12,000.......still a good deal on a great set-up. Not everyone wants a blower or a turbo.
600 RWHP? sounds high. ...but 575 RWHP is still a lot for the street ,verdad?
I prefer the stock radiator. How many bad votes for the OEM?. If I can get you a terrific price on a new oem or a 3 row oem recore ????
just trying to help:)
Very sorry about your loss. Thank you for posting your experience as I am now going to find a hiding place for my keys and pull the ECU fuse when parked.
So I guess your terrible experience...will be of some help to us.
I think that you should consider going to his house with a tape recorder...
