I like the two-tone idea, it's not expensive at only $495 for the option, just not sure about that much blue inside and out if the colors don't match well ... my fiancee is saying 'go for it,' but I'm also thinking about the slate gray/black combo (but not sure if that would be too much going on...
I really can't decide as to whether to stay with the two-tone black/blue interior, or switch to all-black (or black/slate gray) withe the Bright Blue & White Stripes vert I have on-order???
Dodge obviously thinks the combo works well enough to feature it in their brochure, but the blue...
I did 1.75 T&Ds -- no other mods -- no problems ... but
1.8s? you better consider the 'speed' (not just the absolute lift) at which that valve is being shoved down ... might warrant an upgrade to the springs to keep things under control ... but then that adds pressure to the stock lifters, but...
That blue vert is the car that I've ordered, except with white stripes and graphite bezel.
It looks like the brochure design shop digitally added some aqua colored lighting to the top highlights to make it match the dropped-in photo shots of the ocean behind the car ... what I wouldn't give to...
You don't want to endorse a double-standard for cars and other vehicles. ATVs, motorcycles, Waverunners, etc. all represent even more risk than any Viper (or Porsche). Just becuase something is a 4-wheeled car, doesn't mean it automatically should be held to a higher standard of safety...
definitely looks better painted with stripes ... and looks better lower as on the vert, but not sure I would want one on a vert -- need to see it from the back
If that were true, then how could selling a high HP motorcycle EVER be justified???
I've always said, that motorcycles require a decree of self-moderation and caution, and a Viper should be driven just the same way ... it is no different just because it's a car.
This is it, I just got it!!!
And already a street match-up against a Z06.
You can see from the pic that it was quite a race ... with some unfortunate battle scars to prove it.
But as they say, '... and rubbin is racin'
(that's my son's Z06 ... the little nugget can drive...
The '08 already has the new clutch with a MANUAL clutch pedal and shifter...
more added:
To clarify the confusion, there are NO CAFE requirements which dictate Dodge must make a dramatic change to Viper transmissions for the 2009 model year.
Sorry, I misunderstood the earlier 'double...
To my eyes, the new '08 stripes look like they are only 6"-7" wide in front, and about the same as before in back ... you may end up redoing the stripes, at least on the nose and roof, to make everything look right -- otherwise I think you may end up with some funny edges with wider stripes on...
