3:73 gears are you happy with them.

Just spent a weekend in the rain with the TN/AlA club driving here and there with a 3.55 I got from JonB. Unitrax set up the rear end with late model Viper parts so it would be stronger. I don't drive hard and I was taking it easy breaking (so I wouldn't break) the gears in. I have Nitto tires...

Classifieds-- could not believe my eyes..

Of course there are hundreds of Vipers for sale if you look elsewhere. The economy apparently is taking a toll.

Do 3.55 gears really lower indicated HP?

I just got a 3.55 set from JonB and they are not quite broken in yet but it is more fun to drive on backroads. 5th gear is now the old 4th gear - give or take a few RPM but 1st thru 4th are much more usable.

    Insurance madness

I have insurance through Eugene Scott Alternate Insurance who hooked me up with Grundy. He has several other insurers too and he is a car guy. He has a toll free number: 1-800-770-6202

    Nitto Invos tires

I just put a set of Nittos on my '03 and have been very pleased. I had Michelin Run Flats on before and there is quite a difference. I found they are guiet and stick very well. But I don't drive as fast as some. They were over $600 cheaper than PS2's and were made in February 2011. The PS2's...

    Insurance madness

When I lived in Georgia and had no fault, it covered your car exactly for the reasons you cite. Maybe Florida is different but I think your insurance company must pay you for your car - that is the basis of no fault insurance.

    Oil change query

My Dad is probably turning in his grave! He was a petro-chemical engineer for Mobil and he would say you are throwing out good oil! He chided me for changing at 6000 miles and said it would last for 20,000 miles - just change the filters. He had tests to prove it. I just thought it was BS...

    1 year of ownership......

I know what you mean. Drove mine home from Chicago to Tennessee is a pouring rain. A silver car in the rain is not real visible. When you look out the window and look up to see the top of 18 wheeler tires it give you pause. Thank goodness for those headlights that can vaporize a car in front...

Let's start the talking... where and what VOI 12!

Several friends just got back from New Orleans. It ain't the same no matter what the ads say. Not a nice place now. And humidity is the state bird, reptile, and motto for that state 10 months out of the year.

Let's start the talking... where and what VOI 12!

Let's have it somewhere east or south. Not Detroit or Chicago. Bad roads and way too much traffic.

    Vipers for sale

Maybe it's just like motorcycle ads this time of year. In the winter why advertise something no one can drive? We've had about 3 good days (till this week) in Tennessee since Thanksgiving and the roads are covered in salt - piles of it where I live. I may be a sissy but I don't like cleaning...

Stabilizing Cooling Temps With A/C Fan???

So, I am a bit curious about all the thermostat changing. Seems to me in a fuel injected motor with all that aluminum that there might be some problems changing thermostats to cooler temps. I know cooler might seem better but thermal efficiency would seem to suffer. I also wonder about...

Anyone near the chicago area to check a Viper ?

SeaFoam Vs. Techron, anyone have any opinions?

You have confirmed in a technical and erudite way what I said about the difference in products. I don't use Techron as a solvent or fuel stabilizer, Seafoam works well for that. The only problem I see with advocating certain gasoline product use is that you must depend on fuel distributors to...

SeaFoam Vs. Techron, anyone have any opinions?

Believe me, I am not against Techron. I use it and recommend it. But asking someone who has a vested interest in their own product will produce a very predictable response. My point is that using products for things not intended will not produce good results.

SeaFoam Vs. Techron, anyone have any opinions?

I don't care what Chevron engineers say - Techron is a good product but it is made for cleaning fuel systems. It is also an "over the counter" product that is not as strong as some technicians can buy for shop use. I've worked on cars for 40 years and one product won't do everything. I have...

SeaFoam Vs. Techron, anyone have any opinions?

Never had any trouble with Seafoam and been using it for years. In my experience, it is the best stabilizer/additive I have found for vehicles not driven much and especially at season's end for boats, mowers, etc. I also have used Techron complete engine cleaner but not for the same things -...

Direct Lift & Rotary Revolution Lift

The problem with a 4 post is that you usually drive on the lift and then cannot access wheels/brakes without lifting the car with a jack underneath. Very unhandy. There are some 4 post hobby lifts especially made for stacking cars. They can be moved around easily but I have a friend who has...

Direct Lift & Rotary Revolution Lift

You can't beat Rotary. Mine is American made and has never missed a lick. Chinese lifts are only for those folks who want their car to go up but are not sure they want it to come down. Seriously, one of my good friends is a tool rep and he says Chinese lifts are OK if you don't use them much...

    Top Gear USA

The Top Gear USA show is a huge let down for me. Though I don't like the snide comments about American cars from the BBC version, it is way, way, way better than Top Gear USA. Of course, the Brits have no cars at all to brag about. Who can pay $250,000 for an Aston Martin or squeeze into a...

    Chuck Tator National Celebrity !!

V10'normous Make up all you want. Simple fact is you can't spend more money than you take in. Tax increases are the only way to balance the budget unless we cut spending by huge amounts. Reagans but advisor Stockman just came out and said the Republicans are just as guilty as the Democrats...

    Chuck Tator National Celebrity !!

If you base all your opinions on the idiot Glen Beck, then you are in more trouble than you know. He sees a conspiracy around every corner. Where was he when Bush and company were spending like drunken sailors? This started out to support Tator, let's go back to that. One of my favorite...
