Yes, Larry had yet another car get in an accident over at his place in NJ. Driver and passenger walked away from it. They lost control after dodging a deer and brushed up against a tree. He's giving up on renting the Viper. It could have been any vehicle really...
I'm building a GT2 "Look-a-like". It's an 02' normal Turbo. I just put $5k in parts into it to make it look exactly like one externally. Yea, ok, I'm a poser....lol... Now, I just have to drop in about 12.5K in mods to run high 10's. Switzer is close to me in Ohio but it can be done at a...
I'm sure this isn't it... but if you miss third and throw it in 1st from 2nd, you'd have the rear lock up on you with the engine/trans trying to compensate for the overreved engine... Only thing I can think of.
Do you think the prices for used vehicles will go up. I remember when the Ford GT was discontinued. Prices went from $125k to $150K within 2-3 months....
I used 2200 RPM and a slow clutch release. Remember to pre-load your gears (while in 1st, start pulling down hard for 2nd as you accelerate in first, come the shift pt, just pounce the clutch pedal to change gear (BAM ur in 2nd) - do for all gears)
I just went with a new set of non runflats... Tires by "Nitto".. a little cheaper than the PS2's. We'll see how they last... tread wear is about 40pts higher than the PS2's. $ 1275 installed (4)... Hey.. I now have two front runflats for sale.. almost brand new... any takers...lol
$45k is wholesale... you can do way better than that buying an 09'. My buddy bought a brand new 09' for 25K under sticker. This is a buyer market... IF you dont have to worry about your trade in.. GL
Any Viper I've owned has always had the drivetrain get sloppy once it's heated up a lot... engineered into it... but it looks like you've owned your Viper for a long time so it may be somthing diferent....
We've owned 3 different Vipers. Each one needed a clutch after 10-15k miles. Course we got a lot of people who dont know how to use a clutch correctly even with a orientation. I get all OEM parts installed for $800. Dont forget the locktight on all of the pressure plate bolts or they will...
Sorry to hear that... In this economy and your need to get out quickly... if you dont sell it $5000 under wholesale you are doing well.... Good luck. Been trying to sell ours (maybe not anymore -renting good now) for 7 months with bids about 6-9k under wholesale... not retail...
I'll chime in here. I know of the accident. I trained exotic car rental of N.J. back in 2005. Larry the owner is a stickler for correct paperwork and doing things by the book. As an owner/operator of an exotic car rental company myself, it's our job to orientate drivers in the dangers of the...
