I am having similar issues today. Car locked me out. Fob won't work. I got in finally. Car starts but only runs for 2 sec.
I am sure its the antitheft. Anyone know how to reset on a 97 GTS?
Thx
The part that says (and I quote Jerry Mallicoat) "so from 1996 to 2001, all production Vipers came with GTS-R race block castings."
Taken from Viper magazine, Winter 2008 edition, page 18, second column and last paragraph.
I have always been told ~11% drive train loss for these cars with the manual trans.
Alot of people have stretched the number over the years. Probably so they can boast more flywheel hp than they really have. ;)
Disregard. I found it. Finally located my old issues. It was actually in the winter 2008 issue. Article titled "Why Vipers Ruled the Racing World". And my memory fails me, lol.
Apparently All 96-2001 production Viper engines were made using the GTS-R race block casting, not just 96-97 (per...
There was an article a few years ago in the quarterly Viper magazine, about the first Gen II GTS engines. It talked about the 96 GTS engines initially failing to meet manufacturers' endurance requirements or something to that effect and that they ended up using the casting molds from the racing...
On stock bottom end and unported heads, When i stepped up from 8 pounds to 10 I added;
Fuel pump 255
Water meth
10 pound pulley and belt
I went from 635rwhp/675rwtrq to 660rwhp/710rwtrq. Both dyno days were 100 degree plus in the dyno shop.
Looks like you did a good job. But i am not crazy about your choice of color. White would have looked alot better IMO to match your stripes. (just my opinion).
Sounds to me like the whole rift with Ralph and SRT could have been avoided if Jon B had been re-instated after he served his suspension. Maybe the club could have stayed together too.
Whoever pushed to keep him out, likely caused the cookie to crumble IMHO.
The rest of the non-sense...
Roe's dont typically have any belt slip issues. Paxtons are the ones that are notorious for that. I am running @ 10 pounds of boost and i have never had ANY belt slip issues.
The Paxton kit is nice but it is just not the same as a Roe. Off the line torque is what make the Roe set up attractive. Drive a 600+ rwhp Roe car and you'll understand.;)
I let my Venom membership lapse too because i didnt like the direction that things were going.
I have ordered from JonB on numerous occasions. I always got great service.
I agree with others here that the extended suspension of Jon smacks of unfair competition.
Wow. Two moderators wish to remain "anonymous"? Seriously?
Sounds like they are not cut out to be moderators.
I have cruised many many forums and i have NEVER seen a forum where the mods needed to be anonymous.
The Carabelle event (year before last) was THE most fun i have ever had with my Viper. I trailered my car 13 hours each way to attend that event and it was well worth it.
In light the on going issues, i am curious who has moderatror and admin privileges on this website right now?
And who operates the VCA Staff user ID?
Thx
