I don't think it's anything to do with the vci pod clone or the clones in general. I think it's the emulator software itself that left it out. However, there are reports from around the web that some versions of the chinese clones are not able to communicate with many vehicle modules in vehicles...- Mumbles05

Correct, the CAN bus first appeared in the Viper in 2008. It was very limited based on the module list showing the emulator as being required for all but 2 modules. 2006 and prior were purely covered by the DRB 3.- Mumbles05
