    T56 tranny parts

What company? I've been through several "t56 rebuilds" lately. None have been done correctly do to lack of parts. "OH, caged bearings not available, we'll just put the 100k mile one back in there and say we rebuilt it" The only "rebuild" I've seen that SEEMS reliable is TD or RSG or Tick...

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

Not really on this block/crank subject but damn throttle bodies are different between cars and trucks too.

VIN - another "where is it?" thread.

They aren't going to care about engine vin, they want body vin for vehicle integrity check

VIN - another "where is it?" thread.

The trucks have a metal vin tag behind the pass headlight. Has paint code and other info also. Pic attached. Do you see the edge of anything like that anywhere on the frame?

    Pikes Peak trip

Why would they lock out the inputs? Every car in the world adapts its F/A as you drive, thats why fuel injection runs better than a carb set to one point. Even with a carb people have driven up pikes peak with no drivability issues

05 rods not fit 03 block

Edited - 03 rods and pistons are definitely different shapes. Last one is 05, very squareded off, significantly bigger than 03

05 rods not fit 03 block

Then your clearancing the bottoms of the bores so the rod can get up into the cylinder. This is door stop contact with the oil galley, i dont know how thick it is right there. Then i still have the 04 crank bearing tolerance changes.

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

You think there is that much extra metal in the 03 oil galley to take out? Attached is pic of rod contact

Gen 3 vs 4 blocks and cranks

Dan, how much clearance to the block do you think a rod needs at 6k rpm? Thinking of crank/rod flex with heat/rpm. See my problem here https://www.viperclub.org/vca/threads/05-rods-not-fit-03-block.678621/#post-3306782 I'm guessing I'm screwed and need to 1. find an 03 crank/piston/rods for...

05 rods not fit 03 block

Well it seems like i bit the big one buying these parts. Looking up part numbers doesn't tell you anything. 03 block - 100% sure 04 crank - 99% sure 05 pistons/rods - 100% sure 04/05 crank bearings- 100% sure 04/05 rod bearings-100g sure Rumor has it that the 03 crank journals placed the crank...

05 rods not fit 03 block

So, i bought a supposed 04 block/crank (same bore/stroke, crank trigger not an issue) with the thought of putting in a set of 05 pistons/rods i had (verified to be 05 pistons/ rod). Same part numbers 04-05 so should be no problems. After installing a piston/rod, the crank end of the rod...

    New owner

I know this is an old thread but i was searching for 03 piston/rod to 05 piston/ rod comparisons and came across it. This truck motor story is so wrong. The aluminum viper v10 was first displayed in 92 while the truck iron v10 was in 94. The UPS truck story is plausible enough but the fact is...
