I have a ZR-1 which I have changed from stock 3:45 rear to 4;10's. While you have to shift one more time in the 1/4 mile, your 60' time is better and my best times have been with this combo. It is definitely better around town and makes 6th a real gear. Gas mileage is a given - but that is the least of our concerns, I believe. It is not as good on most tracks, however.

While my car is at the dealer(recall and warranty work), I am having the rear end replaced with the 3.73's. I was going to put headers on, but will put them off until I take it up to Montgomery(1/4) if there is enough interest. My best run on stock gears(with tubes and filters) was 12.58@112. I hope to have the car back in a couple of weeks.

Thanks DRMCAR, that's a good data point.

I can't wait to hear your take! With all this talk, I also want to hear from someone who does the 4.10s. Heck, 5th and 6th in the viper can handle any rearend ratio.

I took a couple of buddies on a ride with the 3.54's and they both said it seemed like it pulled harder than when they rode with me with the 3.07's. See my sig,
I also think that it helps minimize the dreaded drone on the freeway because engine is turning a higher rpm. If i slow down to 1200 rpm the drone starts to become more apparent.
However when Seans SC goes on plus the nitrous, I will more than likely go back to the 3.07. But I have another set of wheels with et streets that supposedly don't slip much at all, so maybe the 3.54 will be faster (at least at the track). On the street with michelins I think they will just spin.
