you guys are throwing out low numbers, I bet if it was your car it would be worth a lot more. I say low 50's is good, it's a good and rare color.

Hey twin, this is LI, well there is tax here on fine cars just like vipers in general, 50K+, any Wtty ? Check out what they are asking for the FE down the road from you, 50K sounds very inexpensive. Should help you with yours.

Friend called on a 94, mint in LI (nassau Cty) 3 wks ago, missed car went (7K miles) for 46K. Stayed local. Right place + right car = good price.

If the 00 RT is really mint and the bolt ons are done well, I'd say low $50's. The 13k miles hurts it somewhat. On the 01 RT I just bought, a dealer bid as high as $53k and would have had to transport it 1,000 miles. That dealer would have had to expect what, $57k or so to justify it?

Anyone selling a mint 00 for much less than $50k is having financial trouble, IMHO.

I can't believe you think 13k miles hurts the car, that's less than 4k a year. It's not a ferrari that would need a engine rebuild at 15k. If more people think like this, prices will be way down.

yeah *** is that all about 13k on a 4 year old car is bad, what is wrong with people, these are cars not collectibles

Twin Vipers, that car should get 52k easy especially with that color combo :headbang: What did you get for a new toy?

Ok, now I've done it, apparently anyway. The "13K miles hurts the car somewhat" comment is based on this:

The theory of relativity. Everyone remember that? There are more 99, 00, 01 cars currently for sale on this site, Ebay, AutoTrader, etc. with noticeably LESS than 10k miles than I have fingers and toes (yes I have ten of each). My point was ONLY that the "competition" of cars for sale would lend those miles to be on the higher side. Not bad at all, but higher than many. Believe me, I'm all for keeping prices up. In fact I just bought my car, after six months of charting prices. I paid a fair price for both me and the seller. I was willing to pay a little more for several reasons, one of which was low miles, less than 4k.

All that being said, I would also note that I/we should all take great pleasure knowing that members of this board have driven their cars to 90K or even 100k+ miles with very few, if any, problems. For me, I bought this car for keeps. Other cars may come and go, but I plan on keeping this one. As for the collectible issue: not to beat this horse again, but here is my quick opinion.

The Viper doesn't really have a comparable example in modern history to reference. The Vette is over produced as is the Mustang. Most, if not all, other high performance/exotics are foreign. So, here we have a low volume, AMERICAN MADE, exotic. In the very short time I've owned this car I've noticed that young boys (9,12, 15, 20, years old)seem to have the most overwhelming reaction to the car. They absolutely drool over it. Any future colletible needs buyers. There is a generation growing up lusting after the Viper. From what I've seen, they are lusting after the Gen I and II cars. AND, just like realestate, they ain't making any more of them.

I think you might get into low fifties with the right buyer but -- if you must sell fairly quickly...

If any of you want to buy a 00 rt steel grey for $50,000 you let me know. I will make a good commission on that sale. My friend has his car for sale with 17,000 miles for $46,000. If anyone doubts the value of the car then just call Woodhouse or Ringgold Dodge and ask what trade in value is. Then add a couple of thousand to that and you have around 44-46k.

Also, if you have any other questions about value call your bank and ask what they would loan on the car with nothing down. I think you will find the same answer.

I am not trying to rain on anyones parade but mod's don't gain any value to the average buyer. However, if your not going to sit on the car and you already have a buyer then I would say that whatever the market can bear. I was thinking you were going to take this car in trade for your car and try to sell it.

Thanks for helping my sale Utah. Just like Diablo said I wouldn't get more that 52k for my 00 GTS Steel Gray a few weeks back(got 58k). There is always a few idiots helping to bring the prices down on our own cars. Keep up the good work...

This idiot can still get you a 00 rt steel grey for 46k. If your such a good salesman and can get the price you want then why don't you buy this one? There is a sucker born every minute.

If you doubt my appraisal look at a current thread and see how much they say the 99 rt's are worth. 40-42k. I guess the 00' are worth 10k more. Better yet call Woodhouse or Ringgold and ask the guys in the business.

All I was trying to do was tell you not to give more than 44-46k because there is a chance that you will not get 48-50k for it(Probably what most sell for) and you might have to sit on it. If you would have said I have a 00' rt for sale, how much is it worth, I wouldn't have even replied.

Just my $0.02, but, it seems over the past...probably year or so, the market price for pretty much ANY exotic car has dropped. My guess? Probably due to recession....and now, rising gas prices.

The latter wouldn't make any difference to me..but, I had to take a salary hit couple years ago...and still not quite back to where I was. Most any sports car I've seen in recent year/months...is not selling at what price you'd think they were worth...but, for much less.

For example, I see '93-'94 RT/10's out there for sale. The ones priced in upper 30's/low 40's...stay there...have been there for awhile. The going price for these..WITH hardtops/windows...are in the $32K-$34K range. This is substantially lower than what they seemed to be going for as short as a year ago.

So...I don't think it is just Vipers...but, all exotic or slightly exotic sports cars. Market just isn't as high these days...and with more people in financial troubles with the economy...more are coming up for sale...thus, flooding the previously tight market.

Again...that's just my $0.02!!

:)

Benz was washed yesterday, at GOlf COurse today definitely needs wash 2 morrow, will see it then. Point of Reference like several have said there are Viper prices then there are NY Viper prices, very different. FOr the NY buyer who will not travel and will not buy sight unseen they will pay for what they want.

Good point. I have no idea what goes on back east or what the market is for vipers.

[/QUOTE]

It is a wacky place here in NY, I bought my Benz as a demo Local dealer had one with 6K miles on it and a dealer through MB Online in Nj had exact same car with 4K miles on it for $8,000 less. I bought it over the phone took a 2.5 hour limo ride for $200 and saved the cash......more Viper toys.
