We have done some testing on headers for the 08 Viper. Many tuners have experienced check engine light problems with the five into one design. We worked with Lou Bellanger
on his Tri-Y design and made a few changes to improve high rpm power. With this prototype design initial results have been good. No check engine lights. Power gains with catalytic converters and 2 1/2 inch inlet and outlet mufflers were about 40 rwhp and 45 ftpds torque.
The new engine controller is very sensitive to changes. Just removing the air filter and dyno testing the car turned on the check engine light. We are currently testing some air filter designs that will improve power within the current calibration range.
So far, we have achieved about 580rwhp with legal tailpipe emissions and no calibration issues. We believe with some new tuning technology these new cars can be emissions friendly and make 600rwhp. Intake manifold and rocker arm changes should yield more.
I will post some dyno sheets shortly. We are currently doing more testing.
