Getting the white stripes on my blue coupe was something I have wanted to do since I purchased my car. Friday, I picked up my Viper from Stuart's Paint and Body in Dallas, and the car gets twice as much attention as it did before.

I have to say a BIG thank you to Smog Dog who not only inspired me to do this in the first place, but took the time to take measurements and provide them to me so I could duplicate the 08 Stripes.

The '09 Viper White is brighter than the old Stone White, and this is more noticeable at night. It is a very crisp contrast to the GTS Blue.

IMO, the red RT/10's and the B/W GTS's are the original Viper's that kids everywhere lusted after, and I've finally got my B/W Viper

Thanks for saying thanks! The stripes look great.....for a second I thought all those measurements had been for nothing!! And I also like the tapered stripes best. Nice job.:2tu:

Bill, I was just waiting for the opportunity to stripe it, and looking for a quality place to do it. I was amazed at what this particular shop charged for the stripes, as I had received higher quotes from lesser shops. The painter was very appreciative of the dimensions and FYI, the hoods are not assymetrical at the raised portion. After finding the center point and dimensioning out, the center point of the raised portion to the center point of the car was about 2mm to the passenger side. Very weird. I wish we would have had access to the Prefix jigs as laying out the stripes and taking measurements took a full two days.

To the people that are ordering the 09 Viper white, you will not be disappointed. I thought the VOI9 Viper looked great, this is even better.

The stripes look great. That white really pops out. I would say the stripes are the best visual improvement that you could have added. Good work!

Jason...you are sooooo right! It's the b/w GTS that was always our 'epitome' of the VIPER DREAM CAR! We now have the GTS Blue w/silver stripes...and tho we thought we'd have preferred the white stripes (yours looks AMAAAAAAAZING!)...the silver stripes really DO look great also. Your car is truly amazing-looking...glad you had a quality striper and fellow VCA member help you out here!
TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! Can't wait to show Mike YOUR new b/w!!!! ~juli

Jason --

Love that color/stripe combination.

/Rich

Thanks Rich! Also, regarding the ETC/MIL, I took it to the dealer, and there was not any issues with the O2 sensors, or cam angle sensors, or anything. There was a low coolant performance code stored and several other codes stored, but nothing setting it off, so the dealer cleared it and I have 650+ trouble free miles since Friday. I do appreciate you taking the time to call me and give me things to look for, and will let you know if it comes up again, and what caused it.

Heh, snuck into my album to see the rest of the photos huh? :) They did a great job blacking out the rear. All the bodyshops I went to gave me a hard time about not finishing out the stripes, but Stuart agreed that the way that Prefix does them keeps the back from looking too busy.

BTW, just so everyone knows, I also get called "Bond" after I got my plates :D

Stripes look great! Just wondering.......do the 08's with stripes from the factory NOT have the stripes through the license plate recess?

Blue and White looks amazing on all Vipers. Its a shame that they didn't come as an option for the 08s but now you get to be the only one with a B&W 08. :2tu:

Actually, Bill (Smog Dog) is the original B/W 2008 Viper coupe owner, and to top it off, he had Prefix do the stripes. Mine was done by a local shop, but one look at the cars they work on, and you will realize why I trusted them to do it. I am 1 of 2 2008's, and I'm happy with finally having my dream car complete. :2tu:

You are very lucky! I expect PLENTY of photos. The prefix tour that is posted on Dodge Viper Historical Society also helped out a lot when we were laying the stripes, so we could tell how certain processes were done, how far the stripes went, etc. These member helped me out a good deal as well.

I never get tired of looking through the Prefix/CAAP photos. Now if I can arrange for you to take some of their stripe templates :D
