1/2 mile racing event

Hey everyone, I wanted to pass on some information on some half mile racing action going on later this year outside of Chicago. I have participated in a couple of these events and let me be the first to tell you that its a ton of fun. I'm not trying to sell you anything, so mods please be kind to this thread. I'm simply spreading the word. I would love to get a gen 5 out there. I also would like to challenge anyone out there with a N/A viper. I have a top speed of 145 in my gen III. If you beat that speed, I will gladly buy you a beer after the event. If you have any questions, let me know.

Located in the beautiful countryside of Monee this airport provides a stunning location that is centrally located to all the major cities of the beautiful American Midwest! Come join us for a day of, side-by-side, HALF MILE racing at this rare and exclusive location. All of our participants will be given a chance to take their vehicle’s Top Speed down Bult Field's private 5001 ft runway and race Door-To-Door against the competitor of their choice!! See what it’s finally like to race without the restrictions of speed limits, on what is basically your own private proving grounds in the Heartland of America!! Pricing:

Drivers:

$195/ea (per day) in advance before February 4th, 2013, or $350 for a 2-day pass.
$225/ea (per day) in advance after February 4th, 2013, or $400 for a 2-day pass.
**To register as a "Driver" for both days simply click on the "2DayPass" Option in the drop down menu.
All Driver's will be treated to a private catered lunch!
Driver’s you must Pre-Pay Online!
*There is no limit to the number of passes you can make! You will only be restricted by the turnover time that each runs takes.

• The event is limited to 150 cars per day, no motorcycles
• All driver’s will be required to wear helmets for this event.
• We take cash only at the gate for spectators.
• Spectators must provide their own tents and chairs for this event.
• All speeds will be recorded with a state of the art trap speed system.

A few of us here in MI were thinking about hitting this event up....... I'd love to see some more Vipers out there, and gladly take you up on any type of race that ends the day with drinking!

This is the first I have heard of this event. The only reason I have not committed is a local car club is putting together a mile long event . Hummmm
