asked if the paint was coming off my wheels. I told them that it looked fine but that I only have 400 miles on it.

We sold 9 of these beasts and virtually everyone is being contacted by Dodge. They will provide you with another set of rims and if anyone is having trouble or has not been contacted, feel free to get ahold of me and I will get you to the proper individuals.

Sincerely,
Bill Pemberton

I have been contacted by Dodge and can verify what Bill P. says is true. My new rims are on the way , I do have chips and hope the problem was solved. This was quite an unexpected pleasure.

The rims will be rare but to be honest only you guys will want them in red and willing to pay a premium. Its like the Gen 2 special rims rare but no demand .

Please get a recall for window regulators. It is obviously a factory defect or bad choice of parts by Dodge's part and we all suffer from it.

They called the house yesterday and talked to my wife. They said there was a problem with the wheels and where do I want the new wheels sent. They never really asked if I had a problem just where to ship the new ones.

There have been some reports of the special red wheels of the Laguna Seca Edition 1:33 ACR experiencing some wheel chipping issues. As with all factory products, it was tested prior to approval to confirm it passed specs before they went into production. This included a sand-blast test, UV-light stability, heat-cycling, etc. They passed with flying colors - no pun intended.

SRT has since determined that one of their suppliers did not follow the approved painting process on some of these wheels. The replacement wheels then went through the same testing procedure in order to be approved for shipping. Those replacement wheels were painted according to the approved process, however it has since been determined that the wheel lug area was incorrectly masked on some of those wheels.

SRT is aware of this issue and is once again getting new replacement wheels painted and fully inspected prior to shipping to the customer. While this affects a very small number of customers, even if it were only one then it is unacceptable to SRT. Rest assured they are aware of this issue and it is being addressed as this is typed.

If I got a new set of wheels id leave them on the corner as new and continue to use the original set. Be nice to have a new set of wheels for the car.

I just got a call from Chrysler. It sounds like they are still working with the supplier. they left me a message. And I thank them for that. Just need to wait.

Yes this is great news.... but why is SRT so intent on taking care of a simple wheel paint chipping issue, but they ignore the window regulator issue? So let's take care of the few 1:33 owners with a cosmetic issue..... and the rest of the Gen 3 & 4 owners have a "ticking timebomb" window regulator that will cost $1000+ and causes you not to be able to properly open and close your door.....that's acceptable? Yeah that's cool......

I have recieved the replacment rims and was one of the very few who had to return those also because of the masking problem. Have not heard anything since but dodge rep said that paint vendor screwed up and will send another set out.Still waiting for their replacments.

Have a new update for those rims , dodge rep called me back and gave me the update. The paint vendor is redoing those exact rims that they screwed up the second time. The new inspection process that has now been implimented should take care of the problem and I have not been given a new ship date but he said that when shipped they will be perfect. Anybody think repainting the exact screwed up rims a second time will create any other problems.
