19\" Purners/HRE or Others & Rubbing issues

Anyone with the Purner 19s, HRE 19s, or other 19s have any issue with rubbing the front or rear body panels?

Advice/experience much appreciated.

Re: 19

About the only thing you are going to find is that the corner of the hood is going to rub the front tire when you pull it forward to open it, just prior to lifting it into it's upright position.

I had this a little bit even with my 275/35/18's on the front lowered on Eibach's. I have yet to try my new 275/30/19's but the overall diameter is only about a tenth of an inch smaller so I would imagine the issue will remain if not get a little better. According to some guys that run the 295/30/19's front, you have to turn your wheels in front before you open your hood. I imagine this would be on the Eibach's as well, as the lowered suspension tends to bring the wheels up further in the car.

Thanks for the input. Can you post pics of your car with the wheels?

Same here with 285-30-19s on HRE.

Re: 19

My right rear rubbed with 19" HRE's with a 345 tire. Car was lowered with Eibachs and NW Engineering lowering caps. Replaced lowering caps and eliminated the problem.

No rubbing on the front.

I think that I have the biggest and widest wheels to date on a viper(20X11/20X13.5) and I don't have any problems with the wheels rubbing against anything ,with the exception of opening the hood which was already addressed earlier. My car is lowered with the eibach springs and I love the Startech wheels.

My oh my, unreel. Don't mean to hijack this thread, but do you have dyno #s on that bad boy?

My forgeline VR1s rubbed so horribly on my 1 1/2" lowered GTS that I had to pull them off. Forgeline admits they were a little more "aggressive" with the backspacing. They fit my stock height genI OK, if you consider 1/4" past the rear fender OK.

Forgeline says that if I send them in they can trim 5mm off the back spacing. 5mm? Is that it?

I should've stuck with the HREs.
