I am not sure what kind of tube you are talking about, but the mystery switch is just that, a switch...As long as you are not putting it into a circuit with unusually high current, you should be fine.

That switch is not hooked up to anything. It is there for those cars sold in Canada for the daytime running lights that must be required there.

94BEAST, they're all lying to you man, that switch was actually for the "safety" ejection seat. Funny thing though there seems to be a high numbers of fidgeters in the viper ranks and it has since been removed. Every so often you hear of one still installed on a 93 that someone accidentally hit while driving.

Please guys, don't tell him how to do this. A Viper with musical neon lights? What are you thinking? Stop this while we can.

Re: 1994 \"Mystery Switch\"

If memory serves me, the mystery switch is for overseas cars that needed a rear running light. It's like a brake light on one side that stays lit. I think German cars come with them.

Matt is right. I looked in my shop manual and it is for export only, rear fog light.

BINGO. Rear Fogs, Euro-Export. Built into the rear taillights!
(DONT ASK.....NO GOT EM.......BUY Europe dealer only. Not even Canada. Ben there, tried that. NO, they are not ricey-polished)

That switch has been drafted for every use from Driving lites, NOS to a speedo/odometer disconnect by a resident felon.......

But NO ONE EVER dared admit a neon light install !

Re: 1994 \"Mystery Switch\"

It only works as a driver ejection seat switch for anybody who installs a neon light that flashes with the music in their Viper. Otherwise it is for a fog light on the European Vipers. I think Jon B forgot about that one, must have skipped over it in the manual.

aww dont let everyone here discourage you, if you want to put neon in your viper you go right ahead. BTW i know where you can get some wheel extenders to bring them wheels out nice and far from the fenders and a sixteen switch hydraulic set-up so you can bounce down the boulevard. J/K

Sheesh....Is this how I get treated at a freaking VIPER forum?

94BEAST,

I am with you there man. My 95 has rear strobes hooked up to this switch. They look pretty cool and tend to do real well at car shows.
The previous owner had them hooked up and I like them as well. I would not worry about what everyone else thinks!
