I am researching the various Indy pace cars and am now working on the 1996 cars. there were two Vipers prepared as pace Cars at the track. I realize they are both on display by Chrylser, but what is the information on this one, being sold by Skillman motors in Indiana.

In most years the Pace Car manufacturer provides cars for the Festival Committee to drive during the month of May. These cars would have a small white number in the lower left side of the windshield, behind the rear license plate, and sometimes in back of the rear view mirror. A corresponding set of Indianapolis Commemorative license plates would be affixed to the car for the month of May. They all would have Pace Car decals on the car. At the end of the race the cars are usually sent to a dealer auction to be sold to the public. Sometimes the decals are removed, such as the 93 Allantes that paced the 92 race, but usually stay on the car. The Indy Ram Indy Edition of 1996 was at the track, both as a Festival Vehicle with white numbers, or as part of a drive-away with orange numbers. I am pretty sure there were blue and white Vipers for the festival members, and the car from Skillman is one of those.
I have a complete list of the 1996 Viper GTS VINs (I hope) and found the car mentioned above and a number of cars on either side of it have the following codes:
191 ZONE 91-DROP SHIP
623 MICHIGAN STATE CODE
1AS U.S. MISCELLANEOUS SPECIAL
4BA COMPANY CAR TRACKING
YBB TAG INSTRUCTIONS
i am about finished with the Ram Indy Edition Trucks and found the vehicles assigned to the track had some similar codes.
So my question: How many Vipers were assigned to the track? Is there a VIN/driver list for the cars? is there a VIN/Track number list for the cars? the festival Cars usually go to a dealer and have the graphics and other modifications done. Did this happen to these cars? Where? Where the Vipers assigned all GTS models?
Thanks-I have finished most years from 1992-date. Here is a sample of the 1994 Cobra Pace Car data:
