Looking to change the fuel filter on my newly purchased 1996 McViper. Following the directions in the service manual, I have been able disconnect the quick connect outlet hose. However the inlet hose and existing filter (pictured) does not seem to have the described plastic release mechanism. Has anyone seen this before? Any advice for how to remove the existing filter as pictured in the attached screenshot?

Thanks in advance

That fuel inlet line is pretty boogered up from previous attempts. I really struggled with my GTS filter a year ago. A good bit of sandy grit had accumulated in it and the line wouldn't release. Ended up using air, brake cleaner, then WD and kept working at it until it released. Access is very awkward unless you remove the wheel well liner. I had to bump it with a mallet and my fist to work it loose. It was easy after that.
