Thanks to a fellow named Detlef, I got the CarFax.

This brings up an interesting question, would you guys ever buy a used Viper if it had been leased prior or registered as a "commerical" vehicle?

It can be, I was looking at a Viper that was a commercial vehicle and it was previous used at a rental vehicle. When I found this out I immediately passed. :p Some of the time I think people might do this for tax reasons, but you need to be a little more cautious... make sure to ask questions.

Re: Commercial reg

I just acquired a '96 RT black/black w/silver stripe that was registered commercially by the original owner. He put 2,600 miles on it in 6 years and it's perfect....are you ready for this? It was registered to a funeral home!!

Guess he wanted to arrive at the cemetery FASSSSTER than his clients..

Re: Commercial reg

You really need to do some homework and find out the name of the company...

Re: Commercial reg

It could just be registered in the company name for tax purposes. It could also be a rental, which I'd definitely avoid! You know it's been beaten on every day of it's life!

I have already done the research, obtained the business name and it acually WAS in fact registered to a funeral home as I indicated......no rental history here.

BigCarrot....

Tax purposes are exactly why this car was registered as commercial. In fact, the owner had many vehicles registered this way.....all black. Reliable sources has it that all vehicles owned were black....including a black helicopter.
