Can you get the pic to work? This is the first set of 20" Startec rims anyone on this board has actually bought.

I was beginning to believe they didn't really exist.

u have to put the files on some sort of server, putting them on your own computer (D:/tmp) won't work...

lets see some more shots of the rims. Look nice, but a tad (I want to say WAY overbearing, but don't want to offend) to overbearing for a stock looking body.... IMO

i got to agree with gerald on this one, car looks all wheels, albeit very nice ones, IMHO 19's are probably more aesthetic looking then again im only looking at photo not in person, probably better in person. major concern would be ride comfort and wear/tear. seems like it'd be a go-kart spine-jarring ride with 20's

Here are some of the pics.

I had the same thoughts as rdustman with the ride comfort, talk to someone who has these rims and said it rides just as good as the 18" and handles better.

we will see.

Who ever told you they will ride as good as 18" is full of C**P

. I have ridden in a car with 19" you can definitely tell the difference. Unless, you put a extra large tire with a tall side wall, it will ride rough.

I think you have acheived "Homie" status.

Atleast you aren't gold plating them.

Actually I like them although they are "Dubz"

Sporting 20's, it may be impossible to drop your asp to its "proper" ride height with say, Koni adjustables, but definitely way cool on a stock car!

I wanted them chrome also, but they sell them in silver only for weight purposed. I am going to get them chromed here locally then get the tires mounted.

I ask this question to startech, the manufacture says they do not rub and the rims were made by Brabus (startech's parent company) and were designed specifically and only for the viper.

Thats a little discouraging to hear, have to see how it rides. This is only a toy for me, I drive about 3000 miles a year/1 to 2 hours at a time, so I can suffer a little ruffer ride to look good.

I just want something that looks a little different, you go to these VCA club meetings and all the cars pretty much look the same.

Slitherin--

Something to check, for real, is whether or not they rub on hard cornering.

I bought a 96 Z28 with 275s all around on ZR-1 rims, and though they didn't rub in normal street driving, under the stresses of hard cornering I could compress my panhard rod enough to let them rub in the rear. Finally wound up having to cut the body and bondo an indentation inside the wells.

Inquiring minds want to know!! Those wheels are ****, as some of the yoots like to say.

I don't care about the pimpin'/dubz effect. I like to see wheel wells stuffed, and I think that the Startech rims look great.
In fact I'd like 22" wheels for the back.

But if it would fit, and the tires were available, I'd get taller rubber, and then have 3.55 gears put in and lower the car 2". 365/35/22s anyone?

Markus,

That R/T10 looks like a candy-apple red paint. Beautiful.

Slithrn,

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your new car with the Startech wheels on.
Should be great!

Maybe its not an encrypted secure network. Maybe its your html source. We dont have access to your D: drive. Thats why only you can see it. file:///D:/tmp/Startech1.jpg Or maybe its my slow connection

Remind me to buy stock in companies within the rubber industry. That much rubber on your tires is going to cause Cater Wallace to look for new inventory!

Those wheels look great! You only paid $9,400 for both tires and wheels?! I was quoted $11,000 from Braus of California. Where did you buy them at?
If you can give me info on who to contact I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Ernie

These are the nicest rims I have ever seen for the viper. I don't even have a new car yet, old gts sitting at dealer with melted head gaskets and coolant in cylinder wall, but they will make nice glass coffee table legs for now.
