2001 Viper Gts,, What do you think its worth?

I was at the auction today and tried bidding on a 01 yellow/Black GTS, with 9K miles. Car was MINT. Looked perfect inside and out. Ive been buying and selling some cars lately, and when i saw the GTS I got all excited. Seemed AVG book on the car was around 46, and this car went to 48K. Couple weeks ago a 94 RT10 with 49K miles that was kind of beat sold for 24. Anyways, at 48K, well with the buy fee say 49, do you think there was any money left in the car?

Depends on private or dealer. I know of one very similar car to what you are describing that went to a wholesaler for 50k and an 01 that I inquired on was priced privately at I think 51k firm and I believe that is what he sold for. Both yellow coincidentally. Dealers are asking all kinds of fanciful numbers but 49k was obviously a sweet price for a GTS with under 10k on it. A nice number to buy for but not a great number to flip for a profit. I have never been able to sell my cars for close to what dealers are asking.
Compare the one you looked at to the red with factory silver stripes in the VCA classifieds priced at $51,500. That one has higher mileage but still has extended warranty and I think the red/silver combo is rather more desirable.

Assuming this was a no paint work, no issues car. Absolutely... This is a mid-$50's car... especially this time of year...This would have done $53-$55 all day long at Manheim PA, and been retailed for more.

Good price. The Bumblebee's are second only to the blue/whites in resale. You surely could have bought and driven it for a while and got all of your money back. Now that your Lotus is gone buy it and slap a TT on it.

Last July I picked-up my bone-stock Yellow 2001 GTS w/7700 miles for $55,700 at a high end auto resaler North of Miami...so he had his mark-up/profit margins of course. Car had been originally sold out of Ohio and picked-up at auction by this outfit. I would have been curious as to what the auction price got. 48-49K for a striped seems like a really great deal...although a the years keep ticking by that would presumably lower the market value. Vipers are a bit unique in this regard though...especially unmolested low mileage examples.

I missed out on the car. i was hoping to buy and drive for a few weeks and then flip it. Oh well. Maybe ill find another.

I would probably bit on that one, and considered it a free Viper for a few months. I go to the local Manheim dealer auction here in the Springfield, but I would expect Vipers will be few and far between.
