California Chrome can chrome it for $150 but you need to disassemble it which can be tricky (and there's a good chance of damaging one of the pins that hold it together) http://www.calchrome.com/wheels_dodge.php
I had the same problem on my first Viper; a 2002 GTS ACR.
The clear coat on the gas cap was already starting to flake off when the car had a mere 50 miles on it.
