Here are the '03 numbers fresh off the press..... Sorry it's a little late this year, but sometimes stuff happens.

Total built 1875

U.S. Market 1739
CAN. Market 130
MEX. Market 6

Total Red 1073
Total Black 402
Total Silver 390
Total Bright Silver 5
Total Graphite 5

Note: 5 pilot units built as Bright Silver (PSB sales code) and 5 pilot units built as Graphite (PDR sales code).

All units were built with Black interior's

As of entering "I" built not OK status

First Retail Vin 3V500082
Last Retail 3V501777

Remember, Vipers are not built in VIN sequence.

Side note, still looking into the VCA '03 Raffle Car. It apparently left the line as a "standard color" to be custom painted after the assembly process.

'02 (Blue/Silver Stripes ACR) and '04 (Yellow/Black Stripes) Raffle cars left line as one-of factory color cars (panals came to factory painted from ASC and were assembled on line).

Interesting note on raffle cars. Also kind of surprised at the color ratios. Looks to me like red will be first color replaced

My SRT-10 is VIN 1853 and finished production in July. That final VIN is incorrect...

Nope! Even your own 2001 saw more Vipers produced than 2003. The breakdown for all Vipers built by model year, including RT/10, GTS, ACR, GT2, & SRT-10 where applicable:

1992 - 285
1993 - 1043
1994 - 3083
1995 - 1577
1996 - 1887
1997 - 1778
1998 - 1216
1999 - 1463
2000 - 2007
2001 - 1978
2002 - 1622
2003 - 1875

This is total production for worldwide distribution, not just the Vipers for the US market. That averages out to 1651 Vipers per year over 12 years of production.

hmmmm.... I'll check and let you know which of the four numbers is a typo.

Remember, last VIN off the line is not necessarily the highest VIN used, or the or first VIN produced the lowest VIN used...

My sticker indicates my car is "bright silver metallic". Does this mean I ave one of only 5 of these? I hought all the silvers were the same until I read this. I have not come across another silver in person to check to see a difference. What do other owners of silver srt-10s have listed as the car color if not bright silver metallic???

I'll see if I can find the difference out. I would suspect the pilot cars were a "test paint"... maybe even brighter than the production silver. These cars would not have been sold to the public (yet) as they would not have been certified. Some go to engineering, some marketing. They often end up at auction a few years out.

Trying to figure out what this all means. My SRT-10 Black Vin 000108 shows a build date of 0920 (Sept 20th as I see it)on the drivers door sticker. From what was posted before Vipers were being built a common thought that the cars were being built in blocks of 100's with red first, black second and silver third. Dose anyone know if this was actually followed. I think I have an early build car. I also did not get a recall on the valve issue. Would like to hear if anyone has a thought on this.

RAMMAN........
....Last November 4th or 5th I visited CAAP for the entire day.....I saw approximately 60 Vipers, ALL RED......my red SRT is #121 with a build date of 09-06-02....of the 60 or so Vipers I counted, mine(#121) was one of the completely finished ones(about 25 cars were finished)....as I was leaving CAAP that afternoon I discovered a big stack of black SRT body parts in the center of the plant....I went over to the assembly line and looked at the paperwork hanging on the front of the first black production SRT .....the paperwork is assigned at a point in time, but do to delays last year at the start of production your car was probably actually built the first week or so of November....I remember there were stacks of frames that had numbers way lower than my red SRT, but there were cars siting there nearly finished with numbers in the 200-250 range ......in retrospect, they were probably all assigned to black cars....as of the first of November last year, there were no black cars assembled or shipped....at least as far as the guys at the plant knew of.....my red SRT had been in the holding area for nearly 2 months and the plant had been totally shut down for about 5 weeks....I have tons of neat pix from the different trips to CAAP during the beginning of the SRT production...just have yet to figure out how to post pix on this board...hope this helps....
ps....the date 09-20 on your car was probably assigned just before the plant went down for the 5 weeks....because the day I was there was the first day the line was rolling and it was the first of November...my black SRT #703 was a recall car...it was built in Feb 03 I think....there were approximately 264 recall cars....the only thing my early (#121)SRT has been recalled for is electrical issue around the gas tank....forget what it's about exactly....

Ramman are you sure about your VIN? I thought all 2003's started with a 5, not a zero.
