I have XBox lined up for the kids this Christmas (at least I hope I do) and one of the games I ordered was Project Gotham Racing. Was reading some reviews for the different games today and found this screenshot:

What do you think? I am assuming the game designers took the liberty of adding stripes. They aren't spaced quite right and certainly aren't the tapered version we saw on the concept coupe. Still pretty cool to see it in a video game!

Oh, and there was also this screenshot of the non-striped version:

Looks like a great game and I hope I get in time for Santa!

PS. If you want to see a nice clip of gameplay for this one, including some slick Z06 footage, here you go:

I have heard that the X-box freezes up often, every 20 min or so. I don't know if it is true, just what I heard from some people in the industry.

Mine's getting shipped out the 15th, and Gotham's one of the games that I'll be initially getting. It's neat that they've put in the Viper, and understandable (though frustrating) that they're going with the new body style. As to the boxes crashing, I can almost guarantee that that's not true - probably some sort of "everything from Microsoft crashes" urban legend.

I hope that the X-Box crashing is a false legend too, I want to get the system too. I'll wait a bit until the bugs are worked out of it....like PS2....

The Business Week article was describing some issues from previews of games in progress for early trade shows and exhibitions of the hardware and software while they were still in development. These sorts of issues are entirely normal - if the game was perfect during the previews then they'd be shipping it then. I've read that the final hardware and games are pretty much bombproof, and I know that the product group itself has a very high quality bar. From what I've read, there are some frame rate slowdowns - taking you from, say 60fps to 30fps during extreme processing conditions, but even then the performance is still quite good. During the recent 48-hour gaming marathons they had gamers hitting the boxes as hard as they could and didn't have a single crash or problem.

Anyway, time will tell, I guess. However, I know that I'll be virtual-racing my new competition coupe pretty much every waking hour this weekend - I'll let you know how it went.

The new Viper GTS-R is in GT3 for PS2, That gotham racing game only has like 25 cars and its graphics are about equal with a PS2 (is it a DVD player?) sure isn't a sony DVD anyway. For ULTIMATE Viper racing get Gran turismo 3 for PS2, you'll save some cash and get a better game/system.
Has great cars like Viper GTS, GTS-R (oreca) new GTS-r, ZO6 corvette C5-R and many others.
Just an FYI
