I have a leak @ the powersteering line at pump . I keep on hearing quick disconnect fitting . Is it just a 13/16 an fitting that I can take off with crows foot or is there a special tool

I haven’t figured out the right answer either but I am having same issue, I believe the bottom of the reservoir is cracked due to heat and age....

My ‘04 had that same hose issue, I think all quick disconnect lines eventually have issues. Search the threads here for the vendor that builds the none OEM replacement set that does not have the quick disconnect. As far as installing it, several people offered me assistance on this forum, basically saying how easy it was but I just couldn’t wrap my head around it and ended up having my Viper tech install the two PS lines. You may have much greater skills than I do, they really did say that it was super easy and didn’t require any special tools.

Be prepared for the oil lines to leak next. My guys fabbed a set of stainless steel lines to replace the OEM, that is the way to go in my experience.

Yeah, it's just a regular nut to take off the factory fitting and a crow's foot should do the job I think. The original setup is more of a "quick connect" than a quick disconnect. It's just a tube with a clip that sits in a groove that gets pushed into the fitting, but there's really no way to get it back out easily. Theoretically with a thin enough piece of metal you might be able to get between the tube and the fitting to remove it, but it's really not built that way if you take it apart and look at it. The clip they use is square shaped instead of round, so hard to force a tool over it.

Had the same leak on my '05. Ordered stainless braided replacement hoses, but got Kevlar covered hoses. If you know Gen IIIs you know it's a common problem. My replacements came with all fittings. My mechanic who WAS A FRIEND said I might also need a new steering rack, which was not true, that was what the fluid leaked on. That's been 4 years and all is well. It looked like it would be an easy repair to do yourself with the right wrenches

I bought a set of PS braided lines from a source on the East coast. They sent an instruction sheet along for replacement. rather easy to do.
jtsvp.com - spoke with Parker...they may have oil lines as well. I did not need the line wrenches that I bought...just regular crescent worked fine..after all that, I had to replace my PS tank and pump due to it being cracked...hard to find new, but I found one....many rebuilds however

Nice to hear I think my tank has cracked somewhere small. I added dye into it and can see the dye coming out on the rear of case. I guess if I’m replacing tank I’ll replace those lines...
