2005 Vipers.

Hi. I'm new to the forums, reason being I never thought a Viper would be in my price range. But it seems for some reason that the prices are sinking dramatically over the last year. However I'm finding the lowest prices on Vipers are found on 2005's? Is there a reason for this? Was 2005 a bad year? What gives?

If I had to guess, it's because the 2005s are out of their warranty now. The 2003/2004's both came with a 7/70 powertrain warranty.

Interesting, I forgot about that. 02's came with a 8/80, 03-04 had 7/70, and 05 and newer have 3/30 or something of that nature?

No. They are prefered over the '03 and '04's. Find one with the factory max care warranty. Good for 7 years.

2002 owner's manual shows a 3/36,000 limited warranty, and "Federal Emission Warranty - Specified Parts" at 8/80,000 (7/70,000 for you left-coasters in California).

i think all gen III's were hurt in value when the 600hp gen IV cars came out.

We sold our 2005 Viper this past summer for a price I won't disclose, but it was MUCH more than we anticipated. Lucky for us, it was a fella who'd WANTED our BEAST for 2 years prior~! LOVE the '08, but sure miss the BEAST at times! ~juli
'05 was a GOOD year!
