6 months ago I was driving car on nice day. Engine warmed up. On a quick straight line acceleration and shift from 3rd to 4th gear I noticed a lack of power after letting out the clutch. No engine lights nothing. I limped the car home (2 miles).
I thought I did something or broke something etc. I parked it and checked it a week later. I drove it 2-3 more time before winter, not that hard. It then happened again once I got on it hard and limped it back home.
I took to dealership and it was running in limp mode on way to dealership. Dealer got back to me and said nothing was wrong. Plugged it in, no error codes, nothing. Everything looks good. Took it for a test drive. I pick it up, and drove it home.
I took it out 2-3 more times and the video below captures it happening again.
The video starts with it in 2nd gear and I cannot get it over 3700 RPM. I then go to 3rd gear and cannot get the car to go over 2700 RPM. I'm getting ready to take it out of storage. I have no idea of what I am going to do or who to take it to.
Why would there be no codes for this? Why would the dealer not find something in diagnostics? Should I try new dealer? Is it a different issue? It would appear that the issue only shows up under heave acceleration.
Typically the car has to sit 2-3 days before the "mode" goes off. If I restart it right away when this happens it will remain in this mode. Mystifying. Thanks for any/all help.
